The Marketing Analytics and Forecast Manager develops and maintains a unit forecast by channel for each finished good in each product family for each of the relevant sales channels.  Works with the sales and product management team to drive consensus throughout the organization regarding short and long term direction.  The Marketing Analytics and Forecast Manager generates the forecast for use by operations and financial teams to develop the financial forecast, inventory planning, capacity planning and material purchases.  Create a budget by item for Legrand to support senior management’s growth directions.  Support the planning function for loading future new business requirements into production systems via the forecast system.



Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management or related.  5 years experience in forecasting, operations planning or related field.

 

The successful candidate will have exceptional analytical skills, expertise in managing large amounts of data, multiple product lines and sales channels to identify trends, issues and opportunities.  He or she must have exceptional computer skills, including knowledge of spreadsheet and database management software, presentation software and internet search engines.

 

He or she must have excellent written and verbal communications and presentation skills, as well as the ability to present information in a concise and organized manner.  Must be able to articulate short and long term recommendations in such a way as to influence business direction.



Position Attributes:

The Marketing Analytics and Forecast Manager uses statistical analysis methodologies, data modeling and forecasting tools, manages the monthly consensus forecast process, and the resulting marketing financial forecast, delivering to the purchasing and operation groups a plan which reflects the current business needs of the organization.  The person develops and delivers formal presentation of the forecast and recommendations to heads of operations, finance, marketing and sales to assist with short range and long range strategic planning.  The person is responsible for the results of forecast accuracy of total channel, new products, stocked products and manufacturing family forecast, as report to Legrand.

 

The Marketing Analytics and Forecast Manager is responsible for loading and tracking forecast accuracy for sales through Electrical Distribution, Retail, Inter-company, House and OEM channels.  The person works closely works closely with sales, marketing and operations to develop the line item budget by channel.  The person drives continuous improvement in the forecasting function to increase forecast accuracy and first fill rate and lower excess inventory.

 

The person develops knowledge of initiatives, programs and market trends that could impact or influence future business opportunities, provides this information to leadership so as to assist with developing business plans, product lines and related.  The person will use forecasting tools as the foundation for building in new business into operations.  Forecast Manager is responsible for developing the line item budget by channel based upon executive growth directions. 

 

The Marketing Analytics and Forecast Manager develops and maintains extensive knowledge of legislative, regulatory agency and governmental initiatives, trends in residential, commercial, wholesale and retail markets that could impact or influence future business opportunities.  This position may direct the work of analysts, interns and others in the collection and dissemination of relevant data, forecast models and related.
