Position Description:

Vantage Controls seeks a talented sales individual to work in a fast-faped, high-tech and cutting edge environment.

 

 General Responsitilibies

  • Present and sell Vantage products to current and potential clients
  • Follow up on leads and referrals resulting from field activity
  • Identify sales prospects and contact these and other accounts as assigned
  • Establish and maintain current client and potential client relationships
  • Identify and resolve client concerns
  • Recruit and train independent Vantage representatives and dealers on Vantage products, programming and selling techniques.
  • Act as a Vantage spokesperson at local, regional and national tradeshows and other events.
  • When needed, develop/deliver sales and training curriculum or tools used by independent representatives and dealers.
  • Develop and manage regional sales forecasts and budgets.
  • Drive promotional efforts within assigned regions.

Duties and tasks

  • Recruit and manage indepent Vantage representatives within the Southern California region.
  • Train motivational, selling and technical skills to independent Vantage representatives and dealers.
  • Assist independent Vantage representatives and dealers to develop unique marketing and sales plans.
  • Research and communicate territory demographics and other statistical data in support of those marketing and sales plans.
  • Research and communicate information regarding competitive products and industry trends.
  • Educate independent Vantage representatives and dealers on all new Vantage products and developments.
  • Conduct automation and lighting control seminars for industry and Vantage events.
  • Assist Vantage Training Team in the development of curriculum of training courses and seminars.
  • Implement and drive promotional efforts within assigned regions to ensure effective results.
  • Partner with Vantage representatives to recruit, motivate and train Vantage dealers.
  • Manage and resolve conflicts between Vantage representatives and dealers when necessary. 
  • Provide input for new product development as demanded by market to achieve and remain innovative/competitive edge.
  • Participate and manage all trade show and industry related events

 

 



Qualifications:

Essential Requirements

  • General understanding of the residential market in relations to automation and lighting control products.
  • Technical ability to configure hardware and program applications by utilizing standardized software.
  • Exceptional oral communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Exceptional written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel 40% - 60% of time.
  • Ability to meet and motivate people.
  • Initiative, tenacity, persuasiveness.
  • Loyalty to company policies, with an ability to identify and manage true exceptions.
  • PC skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
