Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Project Management Intern to join the Wattstopper Team in Carlsbad, CA.
As a Project Management Intern, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced project managers and cross-functional teams. You will gain hands-on experience in managing projects that span across software, hardware, and firmware development. This role will provide you with exposure to the entire project lifecycle, from concept to delivery, and allow you to contribute to the success of our products. Legrand offers a school friendly environment with flexible schedules. You will learn how to work in a professional environment and have the opportunity to see the results of your work on a weekly basis. Off semester (usually summer) interns work 40 hours a week. On semester (usually fall/winter) work about 20 to 25 hours a week on a flexible schedule. The positions are evaluated for renewal on a semester-to-semester basis.
Main Job Duties:
1. Assist in the planning and coordination of detailed project schedules per approved templates and participate in regular project status review meetings across software, hardware and firmware teams.
2. Work closely with project managers to maintain project timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
3. Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and help implement mitigation strategies.
4. Participate in meetings with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, and quality assurance.
5. Help prepare project documentation, including status reports, meeting minutes, and action items.
6. Collaborate with team members to ensure clear communication and alignment across all project phases.
7. Support the coordination of testing and validation processes to ensure product quality and performance.
8. Assist with pre-production builds and new product validation between different BCS locations and with BCS partners.
9. Assist in the development of contingency plans and escalate issue resolution to the proper decision makers to avoid project slips.
10. Generate progress reports and deliver periodic project status updates.
11. Support New Product Commercial Launch Readiness activities.
12. Promote and support Continious Improvement Methodology across BCS divisions and departments. Contribute to the creation and management of the tools used to manage projects across the organization.
13. Assist with project budgets, track project expenditures including coordination of purchase orders, track man hours and other resources spent on the project.
14. Promote professionalism, accountability, effective communication and transperancy on all levels.

Education: Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Project Management or related field.
Experience: None required. Strong interest in project management, particularly in a technical environment involving software, hardware, and firmware preferred.
