Position Description

At a Glance

 

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Production Supervisor to join the Power Bus Way Team in Mississauga, ON. The Production Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the production of all parts and products, ensuring production targets are met while maintaining safety and quality standards.

 

What Will You Do?

  • Verify the implementation of all operating procedures on the shop floor and train personnel on these procedures to ensure that specified requirements are met.
  • Understand and follow all safety rules and ensure that employees are also complying with them.
  • Monitor the maintenance of production equipment.
  • Supervise and provide functional guidance to operating personnel.
  • Supervise production personnel on the shop floor.
  • Communicate any machine or production issues that may impact output to the Production team and Plant Manager.
  • Provide suggestions and solutions for production-related problems.
  • Schedule work as required through the ERP system.
  • Provide training to all production personnel on procedures, instructions, and forms used in the area.
  • Read manufacturing drawings and reference part numbers to obtain required information.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of all company processes and routines.
  • Communicate effectively with personnel at all levels and perform as an effective supervisor.
  • Demonstrate the ability to interpret manufacturing drawings related to steel and aluminum products.
  • Ensure all welding activities comply with CWB/AWS standards and internal Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS). Oversee the maintenance of welding equipment and manage health and safety protocols related to hot work and fume mitigation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment required

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of steel and aluminum welding processes, including GMAW (MIG) and GTAW (TIG)
  • CWB certification (CSA W47.1 for steel and CSA W47.2 for aluminum) is an asset, with willingness to obtain.
  • Flexibility to cover other shifts is an asset
  • Experience with ERP systems preferred
  • Familiarity with product specifications
  • Production scheduling experience preferred
  • Ability to coach and train team members
  • Strong mathematical, leadership, and organizational skills
  • 5S training is an asset
