Legrand has a potential opportunity for an Applications Engineer to join the WattStopper Team in Plano, TX. In this role, the individual will provide project pre-sales, application, and product support and specification for a wide range of WattStopper products. To include support for Building Automation Integrators connecting to WattStopper lighting control systems.

Qualifications

Education:  

  • B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology or related/equivalent work experience.

Experience:  

  • 3+ years’ experience in Electrical or HVAC control systems specification and/or design.

 

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Strong computer skills (AutoCAD and/or Bluebeam required).
  • Strong analytical and good communication skills. 
  • Must enjoy working in a team environment. 
  • Must be a self-starter, requiring minimal supervision.
  • Extensive understanding of control systems (dimming, energy management and lighting controls).
  • Agreeable to travel for training and support as needed.

 

Position Attributes

  • Understand the requirements of project lighting control and ensure all project objectives are met.
  • Provide application engineering support for Wattstopper lighting controls including Architectural Dimming Systems, Ethernet, BACnet, Niagara networks, and customized solutions.Includes application engineering documentation (design, sequence of operation development, programming for controls systems, and other related duties).
  • Internal and external education on BAS networks and systems.
  • Review electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications and apply the information to a set of specific Wattstopper products to meet the intent of the project documents.
  • Develop and verify non standard design and custom solutions from standard product mix.
  • Supervision of: submittal generation, control programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting of Wattstopper systems. 
  • Supports sales team and assists in quotations.
  • Participates in Continuous Improvement.
  • Performs other similar and related duties as required.
