Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Mechanic II to join the team in Anaheim, CA. This position will be responsible for repair, installation and provision of preventative/corrective maintenance to the facility machinery and mechanical equipment in accordance with specification using hand tools and power tools, precision & testing instruments.

Qualifications

Education:   

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent manufacturing maintenance experience of a minimum of 5+ years preferably in a sheet metal environment. 

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years manufacturing maintenance experience.

 

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Must have good mechanical/electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Must have pneumatic and hydraulic experience.
  • Must have experience using precision instruments such as micrometers, calipers, dial and test indicators.
  • Prefer weld, basic electrical control troubleshooting experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; Bilingual Spanish is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and possess a sense of urgency when performing tasks.
  • Ability to interface with diverse groups to achieve desired on-time results.
  • Assemble, arrange, compute, and interpret data.
  • Strong computer skills Microsoft Office preferred.
  • Operate forklift, skyjack and boom lift experience a plus.

Personal Protective Equipment Required to be worn:

  • Hearing Protection (as required).
  • Eye Protection Required (safety glasses required).
  • Protective work boots and shoes.
  • Protective clothing, i.e., uniforms (as required).

Certifications Required:

  • Fork-Lift Certification.

Other:

  • Able to work overtime when necessary.
  • Able to work Saturdays as needed.
  • Able to work a flexible work schedule (as needed).

Position Attributes

Main Job Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for the installation, operation and PM for Turret Punching machines such as Amada, Vectrum or Motorum, Amada Press brakes, Janda Spot welders and Powder Coating Systems including but not limited to Washing stations, Drying and curing Ovens, Paint Booths and Conveyors systems.
  • Provides multi-disciplinary expertise in the maintenance, trouble-shooting, calibration, adjustment and repair of a wide variety of complex, interrelated, sheet metal machinery and equipment.
  • Performs at a highly skilled level in operating power and manual tools to repair machinery and/or facilities in assigned area under minimal supervisor with a personal sense of urgency to complete tasks assigned.
  • Performs checkouts, rework and modifications to bring new equipment or processes on line.
  • Proficient in the operation of all facility support equipment.
  • Diagnosis and repairs, with or without documentation, by analyzing failure; develops a minimum cost solution; obtains materials; performs the repair in a safe manner, and documents all performed work.
  • Installs, repairs, and/or rebuilds mechanical equipment to drawings, diagrams and /or minimal verbal instruction.
  • Defines the tools and time needed to complete assigned jobs based on maintenance or equipment service requests, or other internal reporting system.
  • Maintains a high degree of proficiency in the operation of facility and maintenance support equipment.
  • Understands and meets or exceeds quality standards for maintenance of machines and/or facilities.  Identifies and leads continous improvement efforts. Recommends new ideas and works with supervisor on implementations.
  • May be required to perform some machine preventative maintenance functions.
  • Willingly accepts responsibility of sharing skills and knowledge with other employees.  Trains other employees as required.
