Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Product Line Manager to join the Electrical Wiring Systems Team in Syracuse, NY. The individual in this role is responsible for complete management of the Pass & Seymour industrial product line including product development, sales support & training, promotional activities, forecast, inventory and operations performance, long-term planning, and budget planning.  This role will include contributing to the annual corporate business review process.

  • BS in Marketing, Business, Engineering or related


  • Min. 5 years experience in marketing or related field.  Specific electrical or electrical industry knowledge a plus. 


  • Requires strong organizational and time management skills, close attention to detail and be able to effectively handle multiple priorities.
  • Must possess excellent project management skills, including demonstrated ability to develop and manage to a project plan, establish priorities, work to deadlines and control a number of projects at various stages of work.
  • Strong computer skills, proficient with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software, e-mail and meeting management software.  Ability to use internet and web based resources efficiently and effectively.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills and be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization. Must be an effective listener, able to maintain focus extract necessary information and validate understanding of the information.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand customer’s needs and identify new ways to serve/satisfy customer.
  • Must be highly collaborative and able to work in a team based environment.  Promotes an environment that encourages cohesiveness and fosters trust and open communication with team, peers and all business partners.
  • Must have solid business acumen and understanding of a variety of functional areas within the business. Must be proficient in negotiation and influencing skills.

Position Attributes

Main Job Duties:

  • Product Development: field visits (VOC), meetings with customers (distributors, installer, specifiers, end-users), initiate research with engineering & operations, etc. to maintain a constant flow of new products and product enhancements.
  • Marketing & Sales Support: Prepare major launch collateral (sell sheets, instruction sheets, internal & external communications) at sales events (e.x. National Sales Conference, Trade Shows), support pricing strategy, initiate & respond to training & support on-going sustaining initiatives.  Coordinate with MarCom team to support development of catalogs, sell sheets, product bulletins & promotional campaigns.
  • Operational performance: prepare and lead monthly S&OP meetings for designated product line, monitor & act on inventory levels, production capacity, service rates, and production costs to meet or beat corporate targets
  • Long-term planning: lead the long term vision for designated product line, ensuring sustainable revenue growth, market share and profitability; maintain high awareness and research of market trends and competitive activity.
  • Budget planning: monitor & review product line performance & trends to evaluate budget
  • Product LifeCycle:  Manage entire lifecycle of product including VA/VE, rationalization, and discontinuation in concert with operations and engineering functional teams
  • Performs other similar and related duties as required.
  • Travel required 10% to 15%
