Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Project Services Supervisor to join the Cablofil Team in Mascoutah, IL and has the ability to work remotely - location is flexible.  This role is responsible for managing/directing all Project Services team including assistance with day to day activities, performance evaluation, training, and support for the Project Services associates.  The individual will travel monthly to client sites and provide, organize and oversee technical assistance to customers for standard and custom products.

Required Skills: 

  • BS in Business or Engineering
  • 4+ years of client services, sales, technical or project management experience negotiating and estimating on job sites and developing professional customer relationships.  

Preferred Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Strong business understanding.

  • Have strong leadership skills, with demonstrated ability to supervise and manage others.  Provide leadership, guidance, development and motivation to staff to achieve superior results and accomplish overall business objectives. Able to provide the right balance of guidance/support and autonomy, based upon employees level of skills, knowledge, and competence.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills and be able to effectively handle multiple priorities. Ability to work in a fast paced environment is a must. Independent judgment is required to plan prioritize, organize and accomplish a diversified work load.
  • Solid understanding of commercial electrical construction techniques, design and drafting concepts, materials and manufacturing processes. Must be able to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to practical problems.
  • Strong computer skills, proficient with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software, e-mail and meeting management software. Ability to use internet and web based resources efficiently and effectively.  Proficient in the use of 2D/3D CAD software.  SolidWorks and AutoCAD preferred. Estimating software experience a plus.
  • Demonstrated creativity in the development of new product design concepts. Ability to create sketches, 2D/3D files and designs to express all the different options that are used to satisfy the product requirements.

Able to manage, design and implements process and system to maximize department or organization performance.

Position Attributes

Main Activities:

  • Main Interface:  Internal – project managers, design engineers, sales reps, pricing, financial services, manufacturing operations, regional vice presidents,  and product managers.  External – Distributors, contractors, engineers
  • Budget:  Develops or provides input to project budget, manages projects to budget


Main Job Duties:

  • Managing/directing all Project Services team including assistance with day to day activities, performance evaluation, training, and support for the Project Services associates.
  • Responsible for development and creation of baseline Project Services metrics to assess service performance. 
  • Define and Identify areas within Project Services that needs to improve and implement the improvements. 
  • Assign projects to Project Services associates and oversee projects are on time.
  • Assign quotes to Project Services associates and define pricing guidelines.
  • Coordinate with other functional areas when larger complicated projects are in process.
  • Monitor and evaluate phone system performance within project services – lost calls, response time etc.
  • Counsel employees as needed for performance issues.
  • Support  project services associates with day to day issues.
  • Effectively utilize standard design tools to develop solutions for customers.  Clearly communicate design intent  in writing to customers and manufacturing.
  • Review tools and evaluate the needs for the tools.
  • Follow the approval hierarchy for pricing approval.
  • Responsible for directing the team to follow policies and procedures.
  • Define team goals and be sure that the goals are met.
  • Support the sales teams.
  • Provide technical assistance as needed via email, phone in person.
