Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Material Handler I (First Shift) to join the Electrical Wiring Systems Team in Mascoutah, IL. The individual in this role ensures the Loading and unloading of materials within the warehouse and stage materials for orders for the pick and packers correctly.

Qualifications

Education:   

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience:  

  • Two years warehouse general experience is preferred.  1 year(s) of Forklift experience necessary.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of Cablofil’s history, products, and market position is favorable
  • Able to perform repetitive job functions; hand mobility, bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling
  • Able to stand the majority of the work day
  • Basic math skills able to add and subtract

Position Attributes

Main Job Duties:

  • Material Handlers load and unload materials within a warehouse or storage facility utilizing hand truck, forklifts, stand-ups
  • Assist with cycle count program when needed.  Participate in annual full physical inventory count.
  • Stack Cable Trays onto pallets and install protective devices such as bracing, padding, or strapping to prevent shifting or damage to materials being transported.
  • Perform applicable quality checks and document results
  • Perform basic maintenance activities.
  • Assist Material Handler II/III in work assignments and coordinate activities of logistics personnel.
  • Make sure all materials are labeled correctly.
  • Make sure stocking area is clean and organized, free from food, waste, trash and any hazard that may cause an injury
  • Perform other duties as requested by supervisors or management.
  • Additional Responsibilities may arise through the development of the above listed items
  • Must be able to work a flexible work schedule.
