Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Product Manager to join the Electrical Wiring Systems Team in Draper, UT. The individual in this role will be responsible for developing, driving and executing on the product line strategic plan for new product introduction and new feature implementation. Works collaboratively with engineering, business development, sales and finance to achieve strategic goals for market penetration and new market introduction with Luxul products. This role includes aspect of multiple disciplines ranging from product management, program management and product marketing.

Required Skills:   

  • BS in Marketing, Business or Engineering
  • 5+ years experience in product marketing, developing, driving and executing product line strategic plans for new product introduction and new feature implementation.


  • Specific electrical or electrical industry knowledge a plus.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, close attention to detail and be able to effectively handle multiple priorities.
  • Possess excellent project management skills, including demonstrated ability to develop and manage to a project plan, establish priorities, work to deadlines and control a number of projects at various stages of work.
  • Strong computer skills, proficient with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software, e-mail and meeting management software.  Ability to use internet and web based resources efficiently and effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills and be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Be an effective listener, able to maintain focus extract necessary information and validate understanding of the information.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand customer’s needs and identify new ways to serve/satisfy customer.
  • Be highly collaborative and able to work in a team based environment.  Promotes an environment that is encourages cohesiveness and fosters trust and open communication with team, peers and all business partners.
  • Solid business acumen and understanding of a variety of functional areas within the business. Must be proficient in negotiation and influencing skills

Position Attributes

Main Job Duties:

  • Product Development: field visits, meet with customers (ED, Dealers, subs, specifiers, end-users, initiate research with engineering & operations, etc ... to maintain a constant flow of new products and product enhancements. Research and development of Market requirements document and product requirements document.
  • Sales support & training: respond to sales questions, prepare major launches & sales events (Nat Sales Conf, Trade Shows,etc.), support pricing strategy, travel with sales team, initiate & respond to training requests
  • Promotional activities: participate in catalog development, develop sell sheets, product bulletins & promotional campaigns with sales & marcom team, support product launches
  • Operational performance: prepare and lead monthly SO&P meetings for designated product line, monitor & act on inventory levels, production capacity, service rates, production costs to meet or beat corporate targets. Manage EOL products and communication.
  • Long-term planning: lead the long term vision for designated product line, ensuring sustainable revenue growth, market share and profitability, keep an eye on the market: attend trade events, competitive benchmarking, initiate & conduct research into long-term trends & customer needs.
  • Budget planning: monitor & review product line performance & trends to evaluate budget
  • Performs other similar and related duties as required.
