Position Description/Company Info

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for an Accountant I to join the  Building Control Systems Team in San Jose, CA. The individual in this role will be responsible for preparing and filing all sales and use tax returns for BCS.  The individual will also be responsible for reconciliation of General Ledger accounts, creating and managing vendor, customer, sales representative, and other accounts records within MDM, SFDC, and the BCS ERP system in a timely manner. Assists with other ad hoc accounting requests.

Qualifications

Required Skills:   

  • BA degree in Accounting
  • 1+ years of experience in accounting with focus on filing sales and use tax returns, G/L reconciliation, vendor management and analysis. 

Preferred Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, close attention to detail and be able to effectively handle multiple priorities. 
  • Ability to audit work to identify issues and implement processes to prevent errors.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze information and make recommendations on corrective action.
  • Strong computer skills, proficient with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software, e-mail and meeting management software. 
  • Ability to use internet and web based resources efficiently and effectively. Company specific accounting and finance software and systems a plus (JDE, Salesforce)
  • Able to communicate effectively both in written format and oral presentation and to give and receive detailed/complex and sensitive information, and process that information appropriately. 
  • Demonstrated ability to create effective reports, presentations and business correspondence. 

Position Attributes

Main Job Duties:

  • Reconcile General Ledger accounts and perform monthly journal entries.
  • Prepare and file multi states sales and use tax return.
  • Prepare sales data analysis
  • Create/update all MDM, SFDC, and BCS ERP system records
  • Assist with budget reporting & external annual audit.
  • Performs other similar and related duties as required.
