Legrand has an exciting opportunity for an Inventory Control Manager to join the  Electrical Wiring Systems Team in Mascoutah, IL. The individual in this role will analyze and coordinate the logistical functions for the business. They are responsible for the entire life cycle of a product, including acquisition, distribution, internal allocation, delivery, and final disposal of resources. They manage Inventory Control functions. planning and purchasing groups for the Cablofil Mascoutah, IL Facility, This includes interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Required Skills:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a focus in project management, logistics or transportation with 5+ years of management experience in a manufacturing environment directing Inventory Control, Planning and Scheduling and Purchasing
  • 3+ years' utilizing SAP ERP system and Microsoft Office suite


  • HS Diploma or equivalent with 10+ years of management experience in a manufacturing environment directing Inventory Control, Planning and Scheduling and Purchasing
  • 3+ years' utilizing SAP ERP system and Microsoft Office suite

Preferred Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Experience working in a union environment helpful.
  • Strong leadership skills, with demonstrated ability to supervise others.
  • Provide guidance, development and motivation to staff to achieve superior results and accomplish overall business objectives.

Position Attributes

Main Job Duties:

  • Manage a staff consisting of Buyer Planners and Purchasing Group
  • Develop and execute plan to meet Cablofil’s service, fulfillment and inventory metrics
  • Lead Cablofil S&OP process
  • Ensure Cablofil safety stocks are in line with demand variation as well as customer and process lead times
  • Manage stocking of outside warehouses to best fulfill customer needs
  • Work with business team to develop distribution strategies for Cablofil products
  • Partner with Product Manager to determine excess and obsolete reduction strategies
  • Monitors inventory accuracy for product locations including Work in Process - component/sub-assembly inventory location
  • Direct team activities, establishing task priorities, scheduling and tracking work assignments, providing guidance, and ensuring the availability of resources.
  • Direct availability and allocation of materials, supplies, and finished products.
  • Maintain and develop positive business relationships with a customer's key personnel involved in or directly relevant to planning and scheduling activities.
  • Develop an understanding of customers' needs, and take actions to ensure that such needs are met.
  • Explain proposed solutions to customers, management, or other interested parties through written proposals and oral presentations.
  • Manage the logistical aspects of product life cycles, including coordination or provisioning of samples, and the minimization of obsolescence.
  • Report project plans, progress, and results.
  • Develop and implement technical project management tools such as plans, schedules, and responsibility and compliance matrices.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain key performance indicators for department. 
  • Stay informed of logistics technology advances, and apply appropriate technology in order to improve logistics processes.
  • Responsible for implementing the requirements of all ISO procedures pertaining to Inventory Control at the Plant level.
  • All other assignments as directed by the Plant Manager.
  • Performs other similar and related duties as required.
