Legrand, North America has an exciting opportunity available for an Industrial Sales Territory Manager in the Midwest Region of the U.S. This individual will be reporting to the Regional Vice President of Sales and be responsible for the development of sales and the implementation of marketing strategies set forth by the company in pursuit of the Industrial marketplace. Additionally, this role will focus on industrial MRO accounts as well as OEMs within the respected geographical market.

Qualifications

Education:  Minimum, Bachelor’s Degree in Sales/Marketing or related field, 

 

Experience:  Minimum of 7 years experience in a world class Sales/Marketing organization and 5 years’ experience in managing and executing across multiple functional teams

 

Preferred Experience:Master’s Degree 

 

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  1. High level of communication and organizational skills, strong teaming skills, personal sales skills, marketing; strategy implementation, manage complex issues such as; distribution selection, personnel selection, territorial development.
  2. Maintaining the image and integrity of Legrand with our clients, consultants, distribution partners.
  3. Negotiating contracts, maintaining our margins with distribution channels.
  4. Make direct OEM/MRO sales calls, joint calls with Representatives and Distributors on a regular basis to achieve defined quotas, including cold calling prospective clients
  5. Strong relationships with industrial end users
  6. Sales experience in electrical, automation or related field, in addition to working with distribution, preferred
  7. Proficient with a computer and Windows based applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  8. Excellent organizational, oral and written communication skills 
  9. Be aware of competition and market trends as related to territory and industry

  • Operate Class D automobile to customer locations, sometimes involving overnight stays
  • Sit, walk and stand

Position Attributes

Summary:

The primary function of the Industrial Territory Manager is to market and sell Legrand’s products and solutions to industrial accounts driving profitable sales growth. The key responsibility is to manage the sales cycle from the end user back through the channel, while providing application guidance and technical assistance to customers. This position is expected to develop, grow, and maintain relationships with Legrand’s employees, specifiers, contractors, end users, and customers’ including Legrand’s authorized distributors. They will develop and implement sales plans and be aware of and responsive to market conditions and competitive activities and communicate such information to product divisions.

 

Main Job Duties:

  1. Establish, develop and manage strategy for growth with Industrial marketplace.  Proactively market contracts and programs to customer base where appropriate. 
  2. Utilize professional consultative sales expertise to conduct business analysis and then develop, present and implement customized business solutions to the customer.
  3. Work with the channel, RVP’s and rep agencies to develop an effective coordinated sales strategy.  Collaborate to maximize volume, mix and margin.
  4. Responsible for expansion of business within these targeted accounts with all Legrand solutions.
  5. Fully engage and serve as a key member within the Demand Creation Team contributing to strategic direction, program development and customer relationship with national and global accounts. 
  6. Prepare annual sales and expense forecasts.
  7. Prepare annual business plan in support of company objectives.
  8. Conduct quarterly business reviews.
  9. Develop key channel partnerships in concert with the Cablofil, Pass & Seymour, and Wiremold sales and Market Development Teams.
  10. Provide regular feedback to senior management on sales potential and other important activities within market responsibilities.
  11. Fiscal responsibility for cost center in conjunction with budgetary levels provided.
  12. Conduct training sessions at authorized distributors, system integrators and customer sites.
