Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Corporate Controller to join the Raritan Team in Somerset, NJ. The individual in this role is responsible for managing domestic accounting operations including accounts receivable, accounts payable, month end close process, financial reporting & analysis, tax compliance, internal & external audit, and supporting domestic business needs. Coordinate the consolidation and reporting of global financial results (multiple currencies), maintain consolidated account analysis and coordinate global audit. Liaison with corporate financial staff as required.

  • BS in Accounting or Finance with a, MBA or CPA desired. 


  • Minimum 10 years professional experience with at least 5 years in Finance and accounting management (i.e., controller, assistant controller, finance/accounting manager).  JD Edwards experience and manufacturing experience a plus.


  • Must possess strong financial control background and demonstrate problem solving & analytical skills.  In addition, should possess the ability to multi-task, as well a willingness to not only lead, but roll up sleeves as an individual contributor.  Last, must demonstrate the following traits; strong business ethics, integrity and good judgement.
  • Strong computer skills with advanced knowledge of Excel and related financial software (JD Edwards a plus).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills and conflict resolution skills required.  Must have the ability to communicate persuasively and effectively and manage multiple priorities in an intense, deadline driven environment.

Position Attributes

Main Responsibilities:

  • Organization: Team Leader competency level.
  • Main Interface: Internal: Domestic management, global finance leaders, Legrand North America (LNA) financial staff and select Legrand Group financial staff.  External: State/Federal regulators, auditors, and consultants.
  • Budget: Participates in development of domestic and global Raritan budget, supporting domestic management and FP&A teams.
  • Main Job Duties:

1. Domestic Operations

  • Responsible for daily operations including accounts receivable, accounts payable and supporting domestic business.

  • Manage month end close process including account analysis (balance sheet and P&L) and financial statement preparation.

  • Responsible for domestic tax (sales and income tax) compliance, working with LNA and external tax agencies.

2. Consolidated (global) Reporting – Oversee the monthly consolidation of multiple entities with exposure to multiple currencies.  Supervise the maintenance of global account analysis (balance sheet and P&L) and the preparation of consolidated financial statements.

3. Responsible for monthly, quarterly and annual reporting of financial results to LNA.

4. Coordinate and support both internal and external audits, as well as oversee compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and Legrand control requirements.

5. Monitor compliance with applicable accounting guidelines and company procedures for domestic and global operations.

6. Coordinate domestic and global audits (internal and external) and support global tax compliance efforts by LNA.

7. Oversee compliance and implementation of internal controls environment for both domestic and international operations.

8. Supervise, develop and motivate domestic staff of six and provide guidance to global finance team.
