Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Continuous Improvement Production Leader to join the Electrical Wiring Systems Team in West Hartford, CT.This role will oversee the Lean implementation, kaizen event coordination and sustainment of Lean principles including the preparation and training of employees regarding kaizen events, standard work, and Lean tools. Drive process improvements to increase productivity and profitability while promoting a team environment.

Qualifications

Education:   

  • Bachelor’s Degree; in a technical field

Experience:  

  • Five years or more of supervisory and/or facilitation experience in a lean environment.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Creative, self-motivated, visionary, results oriented, excellent communicator.
  • Must have the ability to interact with all areas of the organization and drive organizational change.
  • Must have a strong working knowledge of the Lean business philosophy, and proven track record in implementing and sustaining continuous improvement through kaizen.
  • Must have strong planning, training, and organizational skills.
  • Must have the ability to promote and develop teamwork, and have strong leadership skills.

Position Attributes

Main Job Duties:

  • Identify and coordinate manufacturing kaizen events within the factory.
  • Facilitate kaizen events under the guidance of Lean Champion as necessary.
  • Assist in the development of kaizen team leaders.
  • Assist in root cause analysis and planning of countermeasures based on data.
  • Responsible for maintaining various operational reports.
  • Coordinate resources across various departments to implement continuous improvement action items.
  • Oversee, coordinate, and deliver all relevant training as it pertains to continuous improvement like teamwork, Lean initiatives, company history & direction, and general manufacturing practices.
  • Leading and/or participating on projects that support business objectives.
  • Manager and Supervisory coverage as necessary. Performs other similar and related duties as required.
