    Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Cost Analyst to join the Data Communications Division in Moraine, OH or Hickory, NC. The Cost Analyst is an integral part of the Finance department and plays an important role in the division’s daily, monthly and annual accounting and analysis of manufacturing and departmental costs and earned hours, standard cost and variances, inventory including excess and obsolete materials, and gross margins. The individual is responsible for all financial and productivity reporting of each of the division’s manufacturing locations. This position will also support the management of the capital process through ownership of the fixed asset sub-ledgers, CIP, and depreciation budgets. This position will have direct interaction with senior management through the processes noted above and assisting the Director of Financial Operations with the LNA Quarterly Operations Review package.

    • Bachelor Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related subject matter combined with experience


    • 3-5 years of relevant work experience including cost accounting


    • SAP, Business Intelligence and Business Objects, preferred
    • Advanced Microsoft applications including Excel and PowerPoint
    • Requires strong organizational, communication and time/project management skills
    • Demonstrated ability to acquire and grow skills on specific accounting/IT systems (SAP, BI, Business Objects, BPC, SharePoint)
    • Analytical skills and exceptional ability to data mine and work with complex and at times incomplete or directional information
    • Mature and professional candidate who is a self-starter, able to work independently and drives assignments to completion within strict deadlines
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively across all levels of management

    Position Attributes

    Main Job Duties:

    • Business partner to the operation team of DCD including all manufacturing sites
    • Responsible for the completion and analysis of monthly manufacturing productivity schedules.  Monthly analysis is completed and reported to DCD management and LNCA via SharePoint Reporting.
    • Leads monthly detailed review of manufacturing expenses with each site’s leader to identify performance to budget/forecast.  Commentary is communicated by 10th workday and should include key trends in performance and call out risks and opportunities to DCD’s financial performance.
    • Maintain the Division’s detailed fixed asset sub-ledger systems and CIP including the capitalization and retirement of assets
    • Ensure compliance to all Legrand, LNCA and DCD control requirements including the audit of fixed assets at least once every four years and cycle count processes.
    • Leadership role in the preparation of the LNCA Quarterly Operational Review including consolidating data needed to populate the required templates and presentation.  Key consideration should be given to productivity, OT and headcount schedules.
    • Calculate and recommend changes to DCD’s standard costs through the annual cost roll process with detailed analysis of manufacturing overhead rates by department or site
    • Assist in all Group financial reporting through the timely and accurate completion of BPC COGS, fixed asset, inventory and purchasing schedules
    • Drives process improvements in all job requirements and looks to utilize LEAN and Six Sigma tools
    • Performs monthly journal entries and reconciles General Ledger accounts in SAP
    • Assists with internal and external audits and physical inventories
