Legrand has an opportunity for a Cost Accounting Manager to join our Solarfective Team at our Scarborough, ON location. This role is responsible for ensuring the valuation accuracy of the company’s manufacturing costs and their carrying value in inventory while supporting all facets of the business with requested financial analysis.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting / Finance or related discipline.  
  • Minimum 7 years experience in cost accounting within a Standard Cost environment.

 

Additional Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree or CPA preferred
  • Strong financial control background and demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills. 
  • Demonstrate good judgment, well developed business ethics, integrity and consultancy skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, close attention to detail and be able to effectively handle multiple priorities.
  • Independent judgment to plan, prioritize, organize and accomplish a diversified work load.
  • Strong computer skills, proficient with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software, e-mail and meeting management software. 
  • Ability to use internet and web based resources efficiently and effectively.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills and conflict resolution. 
  • Ability to communicate persuasively and effectively and manage multiple priorities in an intense, deadline driven environment.

 

 

Position Attributes

Main Job Duties to Include:

  • Perform month end close responsibilities.  Reconciles inventory accounts adjusts as required.  Prepares reports and summaries as required for inclusion in financial reporting.
  • Reporting monthly and quarterly inventory and margin analysis including reserve requirements, Purchase Price Variance and negative balances
  • Participate in financial planning cycles (budgets and forecasts)
  • Represent finance on operations-related cross functional teams
  • Maintain bill of materials- partner with operations to ensure BOM accuracy and manufacturing cost impact on financial statements
  • Maintain the Standard Cost System and perform the annual cost roll
  • Supply Marketing, Sales, Engineering and Manufacturing departments with cost and margin analysis that support capital funding requests or other business processes.
  • Ensure accounting processes are in compliance with internal controls.  Support annual budget and mid year forecast process
  • Perform requested analysis as they arise
  • Performs other similar and related duties as required.
