Legrand has an exciting opportunity for an Outside Sales Representative to join the Data Communications Team in Moraine, OH. Responsible for identifying new opportunities, growing account relationships, and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction and loyalty with key influencers, decisions makers, and senior level contacts. Build internal relationships and work cross functionally to maximize account revenues, as well as, create and drive the execution of strategic account planning.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Sales/Marketing, Communications or related field preferred


  • The candidate will have 5+ years of experience with successful inside or outside territory management.
  • Experience within a professional, highly collaborative work environment and strong business acumen.


  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills required in English and with bilingual (Spanish) capability a plus.
  • Must be extremely articulate with strong presentation skills.
  • Self-Motivated and highly results-oriented.
  • Individual must have excellent business acumen and financial skills.
  • Personal sales skills, marketing implementation strategy.
  • Effective use and navigation of CRM solutions.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, organize and accomplish a diversified work load.
  • Must be able to work in a highly collaborative team based environment, effectively working across functional units to achieve results.
  • Excellent skills in relationship management, demonstrated ability to make timely and effective decision, handle multiple priorities and effectively delegate responsibilities to ensure high quality service is delivered on time and within budget.
  • Minimum of 60% Travel Required.

Position Attributes


Main Job Duties:

  • Develop, prospect and establish relationships through strategic territory planning and account interactions.
  • Create strategic plans to grow new and existing business and support overall financial objectives.
  • Expand existing opportunities through the development of stronger relationships and driving specification of complete Legrand solutions and innovations.
  • Identify new markets to broaden Legrand exposure and provide feedback that permits further development of Legrand core competencies to match new opportunities.
  • Articulate Legrand’s value proposition to the customer and translate Legrand technology products into innovative solution sets with developed and sound business cases that effectively persuade the customer to invest in these products/services.
  • Responsible for defining all tactics and strategies to address and mitigate competitive threats against existing customer base and/or new opportunities.
  • Establish strong consultant-like relationships with key decision makers in both their business and technical organizations.
  • Provides valuable assistance to help sales, marketing, product management, purchasing, and other lines of businesses to understand and capture new business opportunities.
  • Build and leverage a strong network of industry contacts to help contribute to sales success.
  • Develop personally and professionally to maintain an understanding of an ever-changing technological industry.
  • Maintain and grow a healthy sales pipeline and be able to provide an accurate and timely forecast to upper management.
  • Maintain appropriate activity levels to support company objectives or achievement of goals.
