    Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Senior UX Designer to join the team in West Hartford, CT. Looking for a smart creative thinker to help lead digital design across Legrand and all of it's brands.  Looking for someone who understands branding and the value of consistency, can generate ideas, prototype and design from concept through handing off to development. Looking for a designer who can build color palettes, type treatments and full identity systems that match brand attributes. Looking for a problem-solver who can produce designs that can scale with the understanding of what it takes to develop. Looking for a designer who has technical knowledge and is comfortable handling non-digital design-related work. Looking for a savvy communicator who is knowledgeable on trends and can take a stance on what will be current in 5 years. Looking for a collaborator and team-minded individual who can take and give direction to/from non-designer people. Looking for someone who wants to join a world-class brand with world-class people.

    What Will You Do?

    • Work closely with the Creative Director to visually execute brand, digital and communication strategies.
    • Collaborate with Industrial Design, eCommerce and Digital Marketing to ensure design goals are met.
    • Generate ideas, mock-ups, prototypes to help address current projects in cycle.
    • Partner with outside vendors and agencies in order to achieve on-brand and best-in-class designs.
    • Build out graphic identity systems that roll-up to the Legrand brand and brand guidelines.
    • Maintain, enhance and adhere to Legrand’s Brand Guidelines. 
    • Coordinate the design needs of multiple business groups in a globalized environment and deliver within schedule and resource constraints.
    • Effectively communicate and collaborate with stake holders at all levels at Legrand.
    • Work successfully in a multi-project, deadline driven and time sensitive environment. 
    • Identify and share design trends that contribute to better creative problem solving. 
    • Mentor the in-house creative team to conceive of, explore, refine, and implement print, web and interactive design work as assigned.
    • Develop designs adhering to brand guidelines for digital and across all media.
    • Quickly develop concept mockups to visualize new ideas in context.
    • Propose new strategies and creative thinking with regards to digital and branding.
    • Create website templates and content, email templates and other interactive deliverables.
    • Plan and develop motion graphics, animated content and video, for web pages, internal presentations and trade shows.
    • Where applicable, develop brand guidelines, communicate and train.




    Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in related field required
    • Minimum 6-10 years Graphic/Digital Design experience


    Preferred Qualifications:

    • BFA in graphic design
    • Agency experience
    • Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills and be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization. Must be an effective listener, able to maintain focus, extract necessary information and validate understanding of the information
    • Unwavering attention to detail with an acute awareness that everything counts
    • Requires strong organizational and time management skills, close attention to detail and be able to effectively handle multiple priorities
    • Able to evaluate customer requirements, identify options and implement effective solutions quickly and efficiently
    • Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, organize and accomplish a diversified work load
    • Experience and passion for working in a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment
    • Must possess excellent project management skills, including demonstrated ability to develop and manage to a project plan, establish priorities, work to deadlines and control a number of projects at various stages of work
    • Demonstrated ability to drive the design development and review cycle


    • Expertise of software programs such as InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver and Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word, as well as working knowledge of HTML, FTP software. AfterEffects and/or Premiere are a plus.
    • Exceptional computer skills, extensive knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and data base software, proficiency with various e-mail, calendaring, meeting management and related communications software.  Ability to use internet and web based resources efficiently and effectively. Must have a strong understanding of web and digital media applications.
