Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Network Project Manager to join the team in West Hartford, CT. In Architecture and Expertise group IT department, the network project manager is responsible of managing a portfolio of network projects. This position will be a mix of project management, technical network expertise, sub contractor management. This position is fully integrated on the group project governance & management process, involving collaboration with business project managers and also transversal collaboration with others IT domains. In addition to the deployment of network strategies and standards, this individual has to participate to the development of those for Legrand Group Infrastructure architecture.

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, advanced degree is a plus


  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in IT network domain
    • Switch – Router – Firewall – WiFi access points and controller – Load Balancing – Remote access – DNS – Ip services -  routing
    • Experience equivalent to certification on Cisco products
    • Experience with technical project management
    • Experience with sub-contractor management
    • Experience with project at distance
    • Ability to manage projects, perform technical intervention remotely
    • Has to lead network activity inside business project  


Desired Functional Skills:

  • Solid technical knowledge and experience on network (LAN, WAN, WiFi, Firewall)
  • Technical skills equivalent to Cisco CCNP certification
  • Experience on Cisco network product, ability to configure, debug, understand configurations
  • Knowledge of internet protocols, especially, TCPIP, HTTP, FTP and DNS
  • Experience with various network constructors
  • Project management experience
  • Strong organizational skills. Can marshal resources (people, material, and support) to get things done, can orchestrate multiple activities at once to accomplish a goal, and use resources effectively and efficiently.
  • Solid skills to write summary, to present global picture, to make complex technical situation understandable by none technical persons
  • Manage innovation.  Able to bring the creative ideas of others to our business,  facilitate effective brainstorming, and project how potential ideas may play out in our business landscape.



Position Attributes

Main Activities:

  • Take charge of network activities for Group validated project.
  • Network project management: manage all the activities related to network tasks for business projects. It includes qualification, architecture definition, scheduling, research selection and management of partners, technical network configuration, documentations writing and transfer to production.
  • The role is expected to provide a regular feedback, clear vision of project status, alert if necessary.
  • Network architecture: ensure a Technology Watch, be aware of the evolution of new technologies, evaluate and qualify for potential use. To define and document validated architecture standards, lead the implementation of new network infrastructure architecture.
  • Level 3 support: assist in investigation and resolution of cases escalated by network operations.
  • Travel, national & international, will be required according to active topics/projects
