Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Drafter, CAD to join the Lighting Sector Team in St.Louis, MO. The individual in this role will use CAD software to provide support to engineering by preparing layouts, detail drawings, 3D solid models, assembly drawings, sketches, Instructions & diagrams for jobs and projects be processed, as well as maintain and update existing products as well as design and develop new products.

Qualifications

Education:  

  • Solidworks training or certificate. Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school;

OR

 

Experience:  

  • Minimum one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience using CADD.

 

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Requires exceptional computer skills, knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and data base software, proficiency with various e-mail, calendaring, meeting management and related communications software.  High skill level in SolidWorks software creating 3d solid models.
  • Requires strong organizational and time management skills, close attention to detail and be able to effectively handle multiple priorities.
  • Must be highly collaborative and able to work in a team based environment. 
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills and be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization. Must be an effective listener, able to maintain focus extract necessary information and validate understanding of the information.

Position Attributes

Main Job Duties:

  • Process job packages to production.
  • Update existing drawing.
  • Generating 3-D model assemblies, mechanical assemblies, detail drawings, customer drawings, and assembly/installation instruction sheets.
  • Prepares design specification, analysis, and recommendations for presentation and approval. Creates and modifies detailed drawings from sketches, architectural plans, layouts, or notes provided by engineering.
  • Support other departments with illustrations, rendered models, and other documents as requested.
  • Support others in engineering as requested with various tasks.
  • Performs other similar and related duties as required.
