    Legrand has a great opportunity for a Electrical Project Manager II to join the Electrical Wiring Systems Team in West Hartford, CT. As a Project Manager/Cost Estimator you will manage and coordinate customer requirements for custom or large projects from the design stage through the quotation, submittal, production, delivery and installation of the material.  Particular care is taken to maximize margins.

    Basic Qualifications:   

    • High School Diploma or Equivalent
    • 3+ years of project management and cost estimating experience preparing quotations for custom, engineered, and standard products, including both special pricing and lead-times.
    • 3+ years of basic electrical concepts, included but not limited to wiring of devices, fill capacities for raceway and conduits, and working knowledge of the UL procedures and NEC Codes in a construction environment.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • BS in Engineering preferred
    • Estimating experience or expertise.  Ability to do take offs, and or design support.  Engineering Support.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills, close attention to detail and be able to effectively handle multiple priorities.  Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, organize and accomplish a diversified work load.
    • Strong computer skills, proficient with Microsoft word, spreadsheet and presentation software, e-mail and meeting management software.  Ability to use internet and web based resources efficiently and effectively.
    • Strong analytical skills and proven ability to effectively research and summarize information in an effective manner.
    • Excellent verbal and written communications skills and be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
    • Be an effective listener, able to maintain focus extract necessary information and validate understanding of the information.
    • Possess excellent project management skills, including estimating, demonstrated ability to develop and manage to a project plan, establish priorities, work to deadlines and control a number of projects at various stages of work.
    • Strong customer service orientation. 
    • Be highly collaborative and able to work in a team based environment. 

    Position Attributes

    Main Job Duties:

    • Prepare quotations for custom, engineered, and standard products, including both special pricing and lead-times.
    • Process material purchase orders and request engineering or additional information, or details. Review all project details and schedule requirements. Coordinate submittal process.
    • Troubleshoot all error and omissions. Manage all changes.
    • Provide design and planning assistance to Field Sales.
    • Provide customer service support.
    • Performs other similar and related duties as required.
