    Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Buyer to join the Lastar Team in Moraine, OHThe individual in this role is responsible for the timely placement of purchase orders and delivery of materials to maintain appropriate inventory level and support customer needs.  Secure and compare information regarding source of supply, price, quality, availability, terms and conditions and related information for specified materials. Additionally, coordinate all Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO) activities to ensure timely and cost effective purchasing and receipt of necessary equipment and supplies to ensure continued operations.

    • Associates degree in business or related, Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience.


    • 1-3 years experience in purchasing and material planning 


    • 1-3 years related clerical/administrative experience
    • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications including Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook
    • Good arithmetic and calculation skills when working with forecast allocations and formulations
    • Ability to multi-task and excellent organizational skills
    • Good customer oriented project management skills
    • Good communication written and verbal skills
    • Ability to prioritize and work with multiple department heads

    Position Attributes

    Main Activities:

    1. Coordinate with other company locations to negotiate and combine purchases when applicable
    2. Purchase and negotiation of promotional items, office, warehouse supplies, janitorial and break room supplies
    3. Purchase of facility repair items, supplies and services, office equipment
    4. Purchase of production equipment and supplies needed to produce custom cables and support kitting needs
    5. Creation and maintenance of marketing VIR rebate purchase orders
    6. Creation of part numbers and information records in SAP
    7. Organize, update and retain MRO supplier and product information files and purchase order records
    8. Work closely with Accounting to verify goods receipts and payments to suppliers
    9. Working past due report to keep due dates current
    10. Consistently monitor MRO process, communicate and implement improvement ideas
    11. Expediting of orders and providing expected receipt dates to requestors
    12. Develop, update, and maintain custom reports
    13. Ability to multi-tasks with different departments
    14. Interview MRO suppliers and evaluate their products and capabilities as a supplier
    15. Negotiate and report cost savings
    16. Maintain corporate cellular phone account
