    Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Distribution Operations Supervisor to join the team in Fort Mill, SC. The candidate is responsible for supervising the distribution activities for the daily outbound shipping activities. The Operations Supervisor will lead daily activities which include but are not limited to: training new and current employees, staff allocation and/or planning, directing activities, ensuring on-time and quality shipments, inventory accuracy and safety initiatives. This position will support the Sr. Operations Manager and Director-Operations. As part of the Legrand Ft. Mill Team, the Distribution Operations Supervisor is expected to meet company objectives in the areas of performance, safety, quality, leadership, and customer service. This position is expected to uphold corporate and site-specific policies.

    Basic Qualifications: 

    • Associates Degree
    • 7+years of direct supervisory experience supervising the distribution activities for daily outbound shipments.

    Preferred Qualifications:                                                 

    • Previous experience working within a Distribution and/or manufacturing environment.
    • Ability to read and comprehend work instructions. 
    • Ability to effectively communicate through the use of email. 
    • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. 
    • Solid understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
    • Previous Knowledge of Warehouse management software.
    • Direct supervision of a team of associates.
    • Knowledge of Performance Management/Coaching practices.
    • Exposure to Quality management systems.
    • Lean, Six Sigma Training.
    • Supply Chain Management Experience. 
    • Effective Team Building Skills.

    Position Attributes

    Main Activities:

    • Organization:  Individual Contributor competency model
    • Main Interface: Internal – product engineering, marketing, industrial designers and manufacturing management.  External – vendors, suppliers and design consultants.
    • Budget: Develops and provides packaging estimates for engineering, manufacturing and marketing as needed.

    Main Job Duties:

    • Supervise the daily activities for all department leads, warehouse associates, and customer service representatives on all assigned shift or within the assigned area or function.
    • Ensure all customer orders are shipped on time and without defect. 
    • Respond in a timely manner to all email communications.
    • Assist in coordinating all distribution activities in shipping, receiving, picking, and quality control.
    • Will train new and existing associates on current Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), forklift operation and certification, proper WMS and RF usage, and safety compliance.
    • Will assist in training associates in their job duties which include but are not limited to: administration, shipping, receiving, picking, and/or quality control.
    • Monitor associates for process compliance which include accuracy in picking, inventory control procedures, inventory location maintenance, proper packaging and shipping. 
    • Coach and council associates as needed to maintain process compliance.
    • Drive a culture of engagement in leads and associates.
    • Review procedures and recommend improvements that will drive safety, accuracy and productivity. 
    • Participate in or lead kaizen events.
    • Oversee all safety initiatives including but not limited to: conducting start-up Safety meetings, being an engaged member of the safety committee meetings, safety TCP audits, building and equipment inspections, incident reports, fire drills, and safety training.
    • Assist in facilities maintenance including but not limited to: housekeeping, preventative maintenance, 5S Audits, etc.
    • Other job duties and responsibilities as assigned.
