    Plant Manager

    Join the Legrand team as a Plant Manager with our Building Control Systems team in Scarborough, ON. You’ll play a lead role overseeing production floor activities to ensure that customer and company goals are achieved while providing a safe work environment for employees.  The position will provide direct leadership to production supervisors, team leaders, and support production employees.

     

     

    Main Job Duties:

    • Ensure plant compliance with all safety, environmental, local and federal regulations. 
    • Maintain high standards for safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
    • Foster a continuous improvement culture.
    • Champion and support all Lean activities.
    • Communicate goal progress, issues and solutions to the VP of Operations.
    • Oversee an effective and consistent preventative maintenance program.
    • Resolves production scheduling issues.
    • Assists with the annual strategic and business planning process.
    • Coach and mentor supervisors and production employees.
    • Ensure all procedures, set-up requirements and work instructions comply with ISO 14001
    • Manage, develop, motivate and inspire direct and indirect reports. 

    Qualifications

    Basic Qualifications:   

    • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field.
    • Minimum 15 years of experience in manufacturing/production.
    • Seven years plant management experience, including direct supervision of hourly and salaried employees.

     
    Preferred Qualifications:
     

    • LEAN (Value-Stream mapping) experience - Six Sigma a plus.
    • Large scale ERP/MRP experience.
    • Experience working within quality systems (APQP, Control Plans, TQM, SPC).
    • Demonstrated understanding and utilization of lean tools.
    • Ability to manage a focus factory.
    • Exceptional analytical, decision making, follow through and time management skills.
    • Strong interpersonal abilities.
    • Ability to thrive in a high growth, entrepreneurial environment.
