Test Engineer

Join Legrand and help bring light to the world! That’s because we’re currently seeking a Test Engineer/Prototype Technician to join our Lighting Sector in Union City, CA. You’ll work with our Engineering and Product Development teams to build high-quality, energy-efficient luminaires and lighting systems.

What Will You Do?                                         

• Help the Engineering department bring new products to the market.
• Support customer needs through customization and support of existing luminaires.
• Handle scheduling, prioritizing, and fabricating for pending prototypes.
• Participate in every level of prototype development - from early concept phase to custom options of existing luminaries.
• Fabricate, assemble and wire prototype luminaires.

Basic Qualifications

• Technical (Associates) degree
• Two or more years of fabrication prototype shop experience utilizing 3D printers
• Or high school diploma and four years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background with Solidworks.
• Experience with basic shop tools as well as wood, plastic and metalworking tools and equipment.
• Assembly experience.
• CAD/CAM expertise creating tooling paths in Vectric Cut2D and Cut3D, MasterCAM etc. a plus
• Basic electrical circuit knowledge preferred.

Portfolio

• Must Provide a Portfolio of at least 4 project work examples that demonstrate the required skills.
