    Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Systems Test Engineer to join the Home Systems team in Hebron, KY, Cincinatti, OH or Middletown, PA. In this role the Sytems Test Engineer position plays a key role within the Product Development group. Under general direction provided by Engineering Manager, this position will contribute to the conceptualization, research, planning and execution of Testing to assure the installation and operating integrity of products being marketed into the home systems markets.This position is a critical member of the engineering group participating in the development and support of new and existing products. Primary responsibilities will include planning and testing to verify conformance of products to design specifications and interoperability with products and systems within the intended deployment environments.

    Basic Qualifications:  

    • Bachelors degree in software or systems related Engineering discipline with 2+ years' experience in the fields of product technical support and/or product development.


    • Associate degree in software related Engineering discipline or related discipline coupled with 4+ years' experience in the fields of product technical support and/or product development.


    • High School Diploma with 6+ years' experience in the fields of product technical support and/or product development.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Demonstrated a strong aptitude for software design assessment.
    • Candidate possess technical insights to:
      • SQA in Agile Environment
      • Black box and white box testing
      • Software test automation
      • Formal testing methodologies 
    • Knowledge of Defect Tracking Software desired– Atlissian, JIRA, Fogbuz, Trello
    • Software design and architecture ability is a plus
    • Aptitude to develop comprehensive understanding of the design and deployment of home systems products, market, and systems
    • Excellent communication skills - ability to clearly and concisely document and communicate defects to the development team
    • Possesses an extreme focus on quality
    • Takes ownership of product quality
    • An advocate for the users of our products
    • Ability to multi-task and work within a dynamic, fast-paced environment
    • Ability to track and work to project priorities defined by engineering leadership
    • Commanding organizational skills with extreme attention to technical details

    Position Attributes

    Main Job Duties to include: 

    • Product Design Verification:
      • Contribute to the planning of testing to validate new product designs
      • Execute laboratory and field testing to validate new product designs
      • Document procedures and report testing results
      • Oversee organization and maintenance of test data and equipment
    • Engineering Support (as requested):
      • Review design specifications
      • Assemble product demonstration systems
      • Assist in the assembly of systems for manufacturing test  
    • Engineering Level Customer Technical Support (as requested):
      • Provide technical and system level product expertise to address product deployment cases when required by the technical support escalation process
      • Travel to installation sites as needed to perform product and system troubleshooting and remediate field deployment issues
