    Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Mobile App Developer to join the Home Systems Team in the Middletown, PA location. The mobile app developer will be responsible for multiple IOS and Android applications for innovative home automation, audio, and lighting systems.  The successful candidate will provide the technical leadership and expertise in mobile app development across all product lines.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Computer Engineering.

    • 2+ years’ experience developing reliable and maintainable distributed applications as well as integration of electronic products with Control Applications (Android/iOS), either through the development of the App or through API development.  

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Master's Degree preferred
    • Multicasting
    • Cloud & embedded software
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to communicate orally and written via the English Language is an absolute requirement.
    • Technical Software Engineering skills to include:
      • C/C++ programming expertise
      • Understanding of Linux and other embedded Operating Systems
      • Android development (Java)
      • iOS development (Objective C and Swift)
      • Knowledge of Xcode and CocoaPods
    • Domain knowledge in home automation or internet of things. 

    • Experience with continuous integration tools like Jenkins, Bamboo, etc.
    • Agile development and tools.
    • Experience with GIT or other distributed version control tool.
    • Experience libraries/tools/formats: JSON, XML, uPNP.
    • Ability/Willingness to travel internationally on a limited basis.


    Position Attributes

    Main Job Duties:

    • Coordination with Engineering Leadership, Product Management, and Design Assurance Test Engineering ensuring product development efforts are aligned to meet the strategic product development plan.
    • Develop requirements, architecture, software designs, coding, unit testing and integration of Objective-C/C++/Java language applications for iOS and Android mobile applications.
    • Collaborate with firmware developers to integrate mobile devices into home automation, audio, and lighting product development.
    • Individual contributions in the architecture and specification of software solutions for embedded electronic products.
    • Individual contributions in the identification and selection of third party software modules and development tools used to complete software solutions for embedded electronic products.
    • Individual contributions in the creation and/or review of product design specifications.
    • Individual contributions with custom tool chain setup and the creation, debug and hardware/software integration of custom software intended to meet functional requirements of product design specifications.
    • Individual contributions in the review, analysis and acceptability of software modules contributed by extended teams or contract partners.
    • Individual contributions in the identification and specification of test methodologies required to analyze software for functional acceptability.
    • Individual contributions in the development of automated regression test applications.
    • Performs other similar and related duties as required.
