    Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Junior Buyer to join the Server Technology Team in Reno, NV. The Junior Buyer will perform entry-level responsibilities associated with commodity purchasing. This position will assist with competitive sourcing, prepare routine bids, and assist with price and contract negotiations. The Junior Buyer will provide internal purchasing support for all departments. This support will include purchasing routine items for each department or resolving discrepancies with a product or service vendor. 


    What Will You Do?


    • Purchase routine components per the MRP requirements to include but not limited to, electronics, wire assemblies, hardware, PCB’s, sheet metal.
    • Input data into MRP system to ensure that information is accurate – lead times, minimums, maximums, days of supply, etc.
    • Review overdue purchase orders; contacts supplier to establish revised delivery, updates the ERP and notifies appropriate departments of any significant delays.
    • Manage inventory levels to ensure desired inventory levels are achieved and maintained.
    • Process purchase order requisitions for all other departments.
    • Builds and maintains positive relationships with suppliers and supply chain partners. Forwards all price change information to the Purchasing and Commodity Managers.       Assists in locating alternate sources for materials when normal supply chain is interrupted or is no longer cost competitive.
    • Coordinate and process returns to suppliers for non-conforming goods and materials as required.
    • Works with Accounting to resolve invoice discrepancies.
    • Participates in physical inventory and cycle count programs.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma or GED


    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college
    • Minimum 2 years of purchasing experience, direct experience procuring electronic components
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks along with excellent time management skills and customer service skills.
    • Computer proficient with working knowledge of MRP/ ERP software and Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint), experience.
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks along with excellent time management skills and customer service skills.
    • Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to provide information across multiple groups in the Company including Production, Finance, Engineering, Marketing, and Sales.
    • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
    • Strong organizational and planning skills and the ability to work independently.
