    At a Glance

     

    Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Coordinator to join the Legrand North America Team in West Hartford, CT. Responsible for accurate and timely completion of payroll processing tasks, preparation of funding, reconciliations and related reports. Assists with payroll related projects, including integration of acquisitions, consolidations and reorganizations of existing companies, system upgrades and related. Responds to inquiries on payroll related matters. 

     

     

     

    What Will You Do?

     

    1. Handles day to day payroll processing of assigned weekly and bi-weekly payrolls, using the Cerdian Dayforce HR/Payroll system. Enters or imports reported hours for non-exempt payrolls, enters garnishments, bonuses or special payments, severance payments, reimbursements and related miscellaneous deductions or earnings. Follows established payroll procedures to ensure consistency and accuracy of payroll processing. Issues manual checks as needed to ensure employees receive compensation in a timely manner.
    2. Calculates, confirms and transmits payrolls for each assigned business unit per the established schedule. Runs audit reports and transmits to appropriate HR team member for review and sign off.
    3. Maintain company and employee payroll records including direct deposit changes, earnings, deductions and tax withholding setup and maintenance, audits payroll reports against documentation provided by HR for hires, terminations and updates to employee records entered by HR to ensure accuracy and consistency.
    4. Prepares, balances and distributes payroll funding requests and associated vendor payments for all assigned payrolls. Prepares and enters adjustments in the system to correct employee records.
    5. Prepares journal entries for financial close.
    6. Using report writing tools, runs standard reports and as required, either on a set schedule or per ad hoc request.
    7. Reconciles payroll related accounts and interacts with accounting for each assigned business unit to clear reconciliations, current balances, month-to-date and year-to-date payroll registers, special accumulator balances and related.
    8. Reviews specific situations related to employee paycheck questions or issues,
    9. Performs administrative tasks including responding to employment verifications, maintaining payroll files, assisting auditors with requests for payroll detail and documentation and related.
    10. Performs other similar and related duties as required.

    Qualifications

     

    Basic Qualifications: 4 years experience in payroll and experience with an enterprise HR/Payroll system required.

     

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • BS in Accounting, Finance or related.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills, close attention to detail and be able to effectively handle multiple priorities. Ability to handle highly sensitive material appropriately and maintain a high level of confidentiality is required.
    • Strong customer service orientation. Able to be highly collaborative and able to work in a team based environment.
    • Strong computer skills, Ceridian Dayforce payroll experience.
    • Strong analytical skills and proven ability to effectively research and summarize information in an effective manner and make recommendations based upon analysis.
    • Excellent verbal and written communications skills and be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization. Must be an effective listener, able to maintain focus extract necessary information and validate understanding of the information.
    • Excellent project management skills, including demonstrated ability to develop and manage to a project plan, establish priorities, work to deadlines and control a number of projects at various stages of work.
