    Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Human Resources Business Partner join the Legrand Canada team in Toronto, Canada.  As a key member of the cross-division leadership teams based in Canada, your role is to manage the full complement of human resource activities for multiple Toronto metro area facilities.  The right candidate should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, effective coaching and facilitation skills and strong employee relations skills.

    The Senior Human Resources Business Partner will play an integral role in supporting our business goals and objectives for increased growth. You will be responsible for supporting the organization in a wide variety of HR activities including full life cycle HR support in a working leader capacity.  This position provides an opportunity to demonstrate your strategic orientation as well as execute on the tactical aspects of the role.  You will also work as a collaborative partner and resource to local employees, managers and the Corporate HR team in the U.S.

    What Will You Do? 


    The Senior Human Resources Business Partner manages the day to day human resource activities of the Canadian operations of Legrand North and Central America, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of services and resolution of employee and organizational issues.  Key responsibilities include hourly/salaried employment, wage and salary programs, health & welfare plans, performance management programs, rewards & recognition programs, training/development opportunities and various other centralized employee programs.   Provides HR Business Partner (HRBP) support to 3 different business leaders and General Managers’ representing the Building Control System’s Shading business, Audio Video Division and Electrical Wiring Systems Division.   Collaborates with the appropriate Legrand Entity or staff to investigate, resolve or gain perspective on issues which impact the Canadian operations.  Ensure that policies, practices, and actions of the facility comply with applicable labour law provisions in Canada as well as local laws and Legrand policy.  The Senior Human Resources Business Partner is the champion for promoting a positive employee relations culture required to successfully recruit, retain and reward top talent within the business. 




    Required Skills


    Education:   BS in Industrial and Labour Relations/ Human Resources Management or related.
    Experience:  Minimum 8-10 years’ experience in an HRBP or HR Generalist role.  Related experience will be considered. 


    Requires strong organizational and time management skills, close attention to detail and can effectively handle multiple priorities. Able to evaluate situations, identify options and implement effective solutions quickly and efficiently.  Must possess a thorough knowledge of administrative and office procedures.
    Strong computer skills, proficient with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software, e-mail, HRIS and related HR programs and meeting management software.  Ability to use internet and web based resources efficiently and effectively.
    Must be highly collaborative and able to work in a team environment as well as an environment where you are the only HR resource on-site.  Must be able to handle all types of personalities and relate to people at all levels of the organization.
    Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills and be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization. Must be an effective listener, able to maintain focus, extract necessary information and validate understanding of the information. 
    Must have solid business acumen and understanding of a variety of functional areas within the business.  Must be able to balance needs of people within the framework of business needs of company and manage risks accordingly.
    Must have knowledge of legally required compliance areas related to the employment of Canadian employees.
