    Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Product Lifecycle Manager to join the Legrand Data Communication Division in Vandalia, OH.

    This position will be accountable for the on-going success of the products from post launch through the end-of-life (EOL). The Product Lifecycle Manager (PLM) will maintain clear and open communications between internal and external stakeholders to focus on product strategy, relevance, profitability, and quality. 

     

    What Will You Do?

    • Manage revisions to products and ensure they meet the needs of the customers we serve by updating product lines as required to guarantee competitiveness in terms of price, compatibility, features and functionality. Maintain descriptions and tracking in all electronic and print media and ERP systems across the organization. Clearly communicate changes to all internal and external stakeholders.
    • Determine part-roll strategy for existing and new inventory. Work with purchasing to forecast, develop and implement a plan to ensure an effective transition of inventory.    
    • Identify growth opportunities for existing product lines by conducting on-going product reviews, interfacing with customers, Sales and Marketing to understand the un-met needs of the customers we serve. This will include ensuring products meet evolving industry specifications, identifying gaps in current offering, implementing feature additions, design changes and software/firmware upgrades.
    • Identify opportunities and develop strategies to discontinue products. This will include determining the timing, planning last time buy, communications to clients (internal and external), and risk/exposure analysis.
    • Ensure accurate recording and updates of product related information in SAP.
    • Identify, support, and drive product cost management initiatives such as: Value Engineering, BOM Consolidation, Pricing Model Reviews and Product Trends.
    • Work with QA, Engineering and Operation teams to ensure that there are established criteria for quality, in terms of performance and reliability. Identify potential issues early by utilizing data from Technical Services, NPS, Sales and customer interactions. Resolve issues through the implementation of corrective actions.  
    • Work with internal and external stakeholders to identify potential quality issues and drive corrective actions.
    • Performs other similar and related duties as required.

    Qualifications

    • Education: BS in Business or technical field a plus or equivalent experience.

     

    • Experience: 1-3 years of experience in marketing or related field. Product management experience a plus. Experience in the cabling, computer, telecom or software industries a plus.

     

    • Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

     

    Strong analytic abilities, effective negotiator, cost management, market and channel knowledge, vendor relationship management, risk management, influencing, presentations and sales experiences

     

    Requires strong organizational and time management skills, close attention to detail and be able to effectively handle multiple priorities.

     

    Must possess excellent project management skills, including demonstrated ability to develop and manage to a project plan, establish priorities, work to deadlines and control a number of projects at various stages of work.

     

    Strong computer skills, proficient with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software, e-mail and meeting management software. Ability to use internet and web based resources efficiently and effectively. SAP experience preferred.  

     

    Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills and be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization. Must be an effective listener, able to maintain focus extract necessary information and validate understanding of the information.

     

    Demonstrated ability to understand customer’s needs and identify new ways to serve/satisfy customer.

     

    Must be highly collaborative and able to work in a team based environment. Promotes an environment that is encourages cohesiveness and fosters trust and open communication with team, peers and all business partners.

     

    Must have solid business acumen and understanding of a variety of functional areas within the business. Must be proficient in negotiation and influencing skills.
