    At a Glance

    Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Buyer to join our Data Communications Division team. You’ll play a key role with a leader in network infrastructure solutions as you help us create products designed to support data centers, building networks and audio/video applications. You’ll review and analyze purchase requisitions, place purchase orders and monitor the product, program or project from initiation through delivery. We’re also looking to you to cultivate exceptional relationships with vendors in order to meet lead time and service level assignments.

    What Will You Do?

    • Review demand and adjust purchase quantities.
    • Maintain close communication with customer service to expedite parts and reduce lead time on delivery.
    • Process drop ship purchase orders from requisition, production of packing slip, receipt of purchase order and providing tracking to customer service.
    • Work with Technical Support and Quality regarding missing part replacement.
    • Interface with receiving departments in warehouses, distribution centers or manufacturing facilities to address receiving issues.
    • Maintain service levels (Line Fill /Order fill) to the current company goals.
    • Update and maintain MRP system to reflect the latest vendor delivery promise date.
    • Work with Accounting/Finance on any vendor invoice issues.
    • Report on vendor performance, responsiveness and adherence to promise dates.
    • Maintain demand stream and system parameter aspects of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.


    Basic Qualifications:

    • 1-3 years of purchasing and material planning experience in a manufacturing environment.
    • Associates degree in business or related

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's preferred. 
    • Hands-on experience with SAP and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) preferred.
    • Six Sigma/DMAIC knowledge a plus.
    • Strong communication, organizational, analytical and time management skills.
    • Close attention to detail.
    • Computer and Internet proficiency with MS Office, SAP and other business applications. 
    • Highly collaborative spirit.
    • Established ethical behavior as a sourcing professional.
