    At a Glance


    Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Network Test Engineer to join the Luxul Team in Draper, UT. As a Network Test Engineer you will have responsibility for setting up and maintaining test networks of Luxul equipment, Partner Equipment and equipment and devices commonly used in the CEDIA market place. These networks will be used to test new firmware versions and products for compatibility and functionality. Evaluate and verify new and competitor products for performance and operational requirements. Work with the Technical Support and Sales teams as needed to resolve customer’s real-world issues..


    What Will You Do?


    1. Setup and test both wired and wireless network configurations and scenarios
    2. Actively engage with Engineering and Support to determine and recreate network issues
    3. Collect test/debug data and present data in a manner that is understandable to the intended audience
    4. Replicate customer or partner network configurations to determine compatibility and debug issues
    5. Perform performance and QA tests on Luxul network equipment
    6. Capture and Analyze packets and network traffic to debug issues
    7. Perform other similar duties as required
    • Organization: Individual Contributor competency model
    • Main Interface:
      • Internal – VP of Design and Innovation, VP of Engineering, Software QA, Software Developers, Technical Support, and Sales
      • External – Dealers, Customers, and Installers
      • Budget: Works to budget on projects, no direct budgetary responsibilities.



    Basic Qualifications:


    • BS in CS, CE, EE, or EET
    • Minimum 6 years’ experience in Linux networking and setup and operation of routers, switches, Access Points in lieu of a degree.
    • Extensive experience with Linux networking (3+ years)
    • Experience with setup and operation of routers, switches, Access Points, etc. (3+ years)

    Preferred Skills:

    • Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA) Routing & Switching or equivalent
    • CCNA Wireless or equivalent
    • Experience doing hardware level debugging using Multimeter, Oscilloscope, Logic/Spectrum Analyzer, etc.
    • Scripting experience (BASH, Python, etc.)                                                   
    • Experience with Spirent test equipment  
    • Knowledge of HDMI over IP setup and operationIn-depth knowledge of 802.3 and 802.11 network installation and setup.
    • Ability to think through problems, debug and determine solutions.
    • Understand design of experimentsMust have broad understanding of Ethernet networking in general and specific knowledge of Routers, Switches, and Access Points and the services and features typically associated with these devices.
    • Demonstrate creativity in the debugging of simple to complex network configurations.
    • Able to understand products and services that operate over an Ethernet network.
    • Able to work alone and as part of team
    • Possess excellent project management skills, including demonstrated ability to develop and manage to a project plan, establish priorities, work to deadlines and control a number of projects at various stages of work.
    • Strong computer skills, proficient with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software, e-mail and meeting management software. Ability to use internet and web based resources efficiently and effectively. Must be proficient with engineering design and engineering project management software.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills, close attention to detail and be able to effectively handle multiple priorities.
    • Excellent verbal and written communications skills and be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
    • Be an effective listener, able to maintain focus extract necessary information and validate understanding of the information.
