    At a Glance


    Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a PHP Full Stack Developer to join the Luxul Team in Draper, UT. As a PHP Full Stack Developer you will have responsibility for developing and maintain the embedded Luxul UI. The Luxul UI is used on embedded Linux based Networking Equipment commonly used in the CEDIA market place. The Luxul UI is a continually evolving UI that allows customer/users to be Simply Connected. Work within the UI development team as well as interface with Support, Marketing and Sales to develop, maintain and improve the Luxul UI. Work with the Technical Support and Sales teams as needed to resolve customers’ real-world issues.


    What Will You Do? 

    1. Write PHP, HTML, and Javascript code in support of the embedded Luxul UI
    2. Use git for version control and gitlab for code reviews
    3. Use JIRA for bug tracking
    4. Maintain and improve current version of the Luxul UI
    5. Learn and use new UI develop tools as product line expands and evolves
    6. Work with UI development team to transition the Luxul UI to a responsive design
    7. Updates job knowledge by learning new, state-of-the-art development frameworks and programming techniques; participating in educational opportunities.
    8. Performs other similar and related duties as required.


    Basic Qualifications


    BS in CS, software engineering or related field, preferred

    Minimum three years’ PHP development experience

    1. Experience writing PHP, HTML, and Javascript (3+years)
    2. PHP: Knowledge of object oriented programming and the MVC pattern (2+years)
    3. HTML: Basic knowledge of HTML5 (1+ years)
    4. JavaScript: Good understanding of events & listeners(2+ years)


    Preferred Skills 

    • PHP: Knowledge of object oriented programming
    • PHP: Understanding of the MVC pattern
    • PHP: Readiness for working with & developing a custom simple framework
    • PHP: Experience with one of popular frameworks
    • PHP: Good knowledge of working with arrays and objects
    • PHP: Ability to write regular expressions
    • PHP: Understanding of injection attacks
    • HTML: Writing a valid & semantic HTML code
    • HTML: Experience with data-* attributes
    • HTML: Knowledge of HTML5 native form validation
    • JS: Understanding of events & listeners
    • JS: Understanding of variables scope & anonymous functions
    • JS: Ability to work with classic JS code (without MV* frameworks)
    • JS: Experience in working with async requests & JSON format
    • JS: Basic knowledge of jQuery


    In-depth knowledge of modern UI design


    Ability to think through problems, debug and determine solutions


    Knowledge of responsive design concepts and implementation


    A basic understanding of Ethernet networking in general and a knowledge of Routers, Switches, and Access Points and the services and features typically associated with these devices would be helpful.


    Knowledge of and/or exposure to Linux/OpenWrt.


    Able to work alone and as part of team


    Must possess excellent project management skills, including demonstrated ability to develop and manage to a project plan, establish priorities, work to deadlines and control a number of projects at various stages of work.


    Strong computer skills, proficient with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software, e-mail and meeting management software. Ability to use internet and web based resources efficiently and effectively. Must be proficient with engineering design and engineering project management software.


    Requires strong organizational and time management skills, close attention to detail and be able to effectively handle multiple priorities.       


    Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills and be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization. Must be an effective listener, able to maintain focus extract necessary information and validate understanding of the information.
