    Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer II to join the ServerTechTeam in Reno, NV. The Manufacturing Engineer II will work independently to provide engineering guidance to plan, design, and optimize manufacturing processes. Manufacturing Engineers are creative and analytical thinkers and designers of processes, tools, and procedures. This position will provide advanced level of technical expertise to develop practical solutions for manufacture, testing, or improvement of company products.  This position will ensure that all assigned duties are performed quickly, efficiently and according to the established departmental and company policies, procedures and goals.


    What Will You Do?


    • Develop, optimize and implement manufacturing methods and processes through various functions (e.g., line balancing, general assembly flows, process flows).
    • Coordinate new product introduction initiatives throughout Operations both at the contract manufacturer and production environment.
    • Create, update, and enhance manufacturing processes and documentation.
    • Resolve Bill of Materials and routing errors in Company ERP system.
    • Address daily production issues and work cross-functionally to recommend short- and long-term solutions.
    • Execute manufacturing engineering assignments that involve advance analysis.
    • Perform various manufacturing engineering projects.
    • Review assembly process of new and existing product to maximize production efficiency and reduce cost.
    • Generate ECO’s and complete ECO implementations according to established processes, providing implementation requirements and due dates.
    • Update and review ECO implementations and review new product introductions to ensure efficient integration into production.
    • Determine and establish labor and assembly time standards.
    • Lead value engineering initiatives to drive product, process, cost, quality and delivery improvements.
    • Provide production support at contract manufacturing sites and Company production department.
    • Influence change to products through the application of Design for Manufacturability.
    • Develop, implement and optimize material handling and delivery systems and associated workflows.
    • Develop robust manufacturing engineering solutions and techniques which meet design specifications.
    • Advocate the application and implementation of Lean Manufacturing techniques and processes.
    • Evaluate and recommend new manufacturing technologies.
    • Assist in capital expenditure proposals (project definition, quotes, procurement, coordination, and implementation).
    • Drive Company wide process improvement initiatives.
    • Develop tooling and fixtures for manufacturing process.
    • Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives.
    • Train and develop entry level manufacturing engineers.
    • Participates in internal and external audits.
    • Promote positive company user relations by projecting a courteous, helpful attitude and assisting employees when appropriate.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.




    Required Skills



    •  Bachelor's degree from four-year College or University with emphasis in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or comparable experience or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


    • A minimum of 4 years manufacturing engineering experience in a fast paced production environment, preferred.



    • Previous 2D and 3D CAD Design experience; package design experience preferred.
    • Ability to apply cost/benefits analysis to requested projects.
    • Ability to coordinate engineering projects and demonstrate engineering technical expertise to a team.
    • Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to provide information across multiple groups in the Company including Engineering, Marketing, and Sales.
    • Strong organizational and planning skills and the ability to work independently.
    • Project management skills including planning, organizing, meeting facilitation and coordinating tasks.
    • Computer proficient with knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel/Outlook/Access).
    • This position requires up to 40% of travel. Some travel international.
