    Legrand has an exciting opportunity for an HR Coordinaotr to join the Legrand Canada Team in Toronto, Canada. Legrand is seeking an HR Coordinator to support the Canadian operations of Legrand North and Central America. In conjunction with the Sr. HR Manager, the Human Resources Coordinator supports the day-to-day operations of the HR department by providing support in all HR areas and functions. The HR Coordinator must be able to handle confidential information and maintain a professional demeanor while working with all levels of the organization.



    What Will You Do?


    • Participate in the full cycle recruitment process including temporary associate requirements, from posting jobs, coordinating and leading interviews, through to preparing job offers and onboarding new employees.
    • Participate in the orientation of new and reassigned employees, including review of employee handbook/policies, overview of processes and procedures, introduction to physical location/layout, health and safety and related.
    • Support the annual compensation cycle and annual review process for all employees.
    • Provide guidance to employees at all levels on interpretation of HR policies, practices and programs.
    • Review routine compensation administration with managers and make recommendations for adjustments, while ensuring internal equity.
    • Provide support and assist with benefit related questions and concerns, claims resolutions and disability management.
    • Assist with implementing various HR initiatives, including roll-out of new HR programs and providing recommendations on processes to improve HR operational excellence.
    • Maintain HR reporting and databases, prepare status reports and presentations; develop ad hoc reports as needed.
    • In conjunction with the HQ HR Operations teams, prepare and process human resources documents involving policy, procedures, new hires, benefits, payroll status, leave of absence, and separation.
    • Support associate benefits including Extended Health and RRSP enrollment, updates, and terminations including the coordination of medical and other benefit enrollment and communicate with benefit providers concerning routine administrative matters of programs.
    • Support WSIB, Short and Long Term Disability claims including submission of documentation and communication with Claims Adjudicators/Nurse Case Managers.
    • Active member in the Joint Health and Safety Committee, and support various Health and Safety programs including Wellness, Return to Work, and Ergonomics initiatives.
    • Assist in the preparation and communication of Team Incentive Plan meetings and other facility meetings.
    • Performs other similar and related duties as required.



    Required Skills


    • Education:   BS in Industrial and Labour Relations/ Human Resources Management or related.


    • Experience:  Minimum 2 plus years of  professional experience, preferably in Human Resources.


    Preferred Skills


    • Strong computer skills, proficient with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software, e-mail, HRIS and related HR programs and meeting management software.  Ability to use internet and web based resources efficiently and effectively. 
    • Must be highly collaborative and able to work in a team environment as well as an environment where you are the only HR resource on-site.  Must be able to handle all types of personalities and relate to people at all levels of the organization. 
    • Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills and be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization. Must be an effective listener, able to maintain focus, extract necessary information and validate understanding of the information. 
    • Flexible and results-oriented approach to work within an environment with multiple and constantly shifting needs.
    • Sound judgement to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive employment issues.
    • Well-developed analytical and critical thinking skills combined with common sense.
    • Proven time management and organizational skills to manage competing priorities.
