• Electrical Test and Automation Intern

  • Position Description


    We are looking for intern candidates to be part of our engineering test team.  As an intern, you will gain valuable experience using labview, python, GPIB communication protocols, DAQs, Spectrum analyzers, Function generators, and IC programmers.

    • Develop Labview and Python based software to perform automated electronic circuit and product testing
    • Assist Manufacturing Engineering team in designing and sustaining Legrand's test fixture system
    • Identify and Implement cost savings in the test process
    • Evaluate and diagnose root cause of product testing failures.  Offer HW, SW and fixture solutions as well as continuous improvement ideas
    • Perform other duties as requested.

    Legrand / Building Control Systems offers a school friendly environment with flexible schedules.  We value our employees and want to help our interns receive the experience they need to be able to start their careers after graduation.  You will learn how to work in a professional environment and have the opportunity to see the results of your work on a weekly basis. Off semester (usually summer) interns work 40 hours a week. On semester (usually fall/winter) work about 20 to 25 hours a week on a flexible schedule. The positions are evaluated for renewal on a semester to semester basis. 





    1. Working toward a degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering; Computer Science will be considered as well
    2. Able to read circuit schematics
    3. Learn SW Programming in Labview and Python (A) Labview experience preferred
    4. Use analog test equipment such as oscilloscopes and multimeters 
    5. Proficient in Microsoft Windows and Office software
    6. Strong verbal and written communication skills
    7. Self-motivated and capable of working to project deadlines with minimal supervision
    8. Great attention to detail and ability to contribute openly with software and product development engineers and teams.
