    Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Director of Sales Specifications to join the WattStopper Team in Carlsbad, CA. The successfull candidate represents the company in all activities associated systems specification & sale through key, Engineers, Lighting Designers, Design Build Contractors and select Fortune 500 Owners. The role contributes to the development of company sales engineers and Vertical Market Directors and marketing programs. Responsible for preparing the sales engineer role to specify and close large and huge systems projects.

     

    What Will You Do?

     

    MAIN JOB DUTIES:

    1. Drives revenue through recognition and realization of opportunity with existing and new, MEP, Lighting Designer, Commercial End Users and Design Build Contractor accounts
    2. Leads and Managers the Vertical Market Directors and Vertical Market Sales Strategies
    3. Manages specifier account relationships in developing new business.
    4. Develops annual Vertical Market Plan.
    5. Identifies training needs – technical and otherwise – for the HPBCS role
    6. Works closely with Marketing to create materials and collateral used in HPBCS selling
    7. Conducts regular Business Reviews and with HPBCS team to understand product & solution evolution
    8. Tracks account activity in the company CRM application (Salesforce.com)
    9. Provides input into pricing, positioning and strategy within strategic verticals or markets as it pertains to Systems business
    10. Provides sales forecasts and other reports to manager as required.
    11. Performs other similar and related duties as required.

     

    Qualifications

    Basic Qualifications

     

    EDUCATION:

    • Bachelor’s in Business or Marketing, or equivalent experience. MBA preferred

    EXPERIENCE:

    • Minimum of 10 years in Lighting/Electrical Industry, including extensive experience with lighting and/or building control systems, including design, installation and commissioning process. A minimum of 5 years experience managing both remote and office based employees.

     

    Preferred Skills

    • Must be able to work as part of a Team and work remotely. Must have demonstrated experience collaborating with multiple functional roles and across organizational boundaries.
    • Must understand and be able to communicate clearly control system “sequence of operation” narrative analysis and design.
    • Must have in-depth knowledge of Tridium’s Niagara platform and BACnet protocol.
    • Must have extensive knowledge of the product, markets, channels and the electrical and lighting industry as whole. Must have solid business acumen and understanding of a variety of functional areas within the business. Must understand implement marketing strategy and manage teams to that strategy.
    • Strong leadership skills, with demonstrated ability to supervise and manage others. Provide leadership, guidance, development and motivation to staff to achieve superior results and accomplish overall business objectives. Must be able to provide the right balance of guidance/support and autonomy, based upon employees’ level of skills, knowledge and competence.
    • Proficient in negotiation and influencing skills in both design and bid stages of projects. Able to creatively demonstrate new products and energy code concepts. Lead construction project teams through the selling process.
    • Must be highly collaborative and able to work in a team based environment. Fosters open communication and supports an environment of innovation and creative change.
    • Creates enthusiasm and inspires teamwork and cooperation within organization and with other functions and Legrand entities.
    • Excellent skills in project management, demonstrated ability to make timely and effective decision, handle multiple priorities and effectively delegate responsibilities to ensure high quality service is delivered on time and within budget.
    • Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills and be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization. Must be an effective listener, able to maintain focus extract necessary information and validate understanding of the information.
    • Strong computer skills, CRM, PowerPoint skills, spreadsheet and presentation software, e-mail and meeting management software.
    • Ability to use internet and web based resources efficiently and effectively.
    • Understand, stay up to date and keep the organization up to with CSI Specification sections 25 and 26.
