    Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Marketing Content Specialist-Residential to join the P & S Syracuse Team in Syracuse, NY . The Content Marketing Specialist has proven success in short-form and long-form content creation, as well as managing, writing and editing content across multiple mediums. This individual will be responsible for supporting Legrand’s Marketing Communications Program in developing and creating content for all communications and promotional content for its various channels including, but not limited to company website, email campaigns, brochures and case studies. The ideal candidate will be an exceptional writer with an SEO background, highly collaborative and passionate about developing effective content that conveys the story of the brand, drives traffic to the website and helps convert visits into leads. The candidate will also be instrumental in identifying opportunities for continuous improvement based on hard metrics.


    What Will You Do?



    • Develops short-form and long-form content, as well as managing, writing and editing content across multiple mediums. Finds ways to communicate verbal direction into written pieces and distill technical information into appropriate communications.  This can range from educational webinars and eBooks to white papers, brochures and case studies.
    • Regularly update content and propose ideas for how to improve and enhance quality of information, user experience, and assets to improve usability.
    • Leverage analytics to guide content strategy and optimize content positioning.
    • Collaborates with cross functional teams to ensure accuracy of copy, specifications, legal marks, etc. for all materials produced.
    • Lead content meeting discussions to own the topics and areas of content
    • Comfortable working with outside agencies and our internal graphic designers as well as our corporate marketing team.
    • Create and own a content release schedule and coordinate the development of the needed resources.
    • Be a resource for determining how to speak to our audience segment and help build greater brand recognition in the industry
    • Travel 10-20% of time to various offices, customer meetings, national trade shows or industry events


    Basic Qualifications



    • Bachelors degree in Communications or equivalent combination of education, training and / or experience.


    • 5+ years demonstrated experience writing/editing/publishing content specific for the web.
    • Must be skilled in writing content optimized for SEO.

    • Ability to ask thorough questions to gather information needed to complete assignments.
    • Works collaboratively with internal teams to develop user stories, value propositions, and content strategy.
    • Repurposes and optimizes existing content for various channels.
    • Ensures content is on-brand and is aligned with personas and stages of the customers’ journey
    • Demonstrates a flexible writing style that addresses multiple audiences, while maintaining the brand voice.
    • Possesses strong time and project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
    • Is a self-starter, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
    • Is highly organized, with a strong attention to detail.
    • Is able to work effectively across functional groups.


    The ideal candidate will be both creative and an exceptional writer. They will possess a strong attention to detail and be highly collaborative and passionate about developing effective content that conveys benefits as appropriate to the specific audience, maintains the tone of the brand, and distills highly technical details into easily readable copy. They will be focused on increasing brand awareness & helping to generate quality leads through digital channels. The candidate will be instrumental in understanding our various customer types and creating effective communications to each separately.
