    At a Glance

    Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Accountant to join the Data Center Power & Control Divison Team in Somerset, NJ. The sucessful candidate is responsible for completing financial statements to provide to Internal management and parent company for daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting. Responsible for reconciliation of General Ledger accounts.  Assist in coordinating the financial activities of Raritan while insuring the policies, procedures and internal controls are sufficient to safeguard the assets of the company and that they are followed

     

    What Will You Do?

     

    MAIN JOB DUTIES:

    • Perform ad hoc analysis and reporting as required. 
    • Assist with year end audit of US operations and consolidated entity. 
    • Monitor compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and enforce internal controls framework. 
    • Maintain and trouble shoot JD Edwards (Global ERP System) financial systems issues. 
    • Interact with senior management within the finance organization as well outside on both a corporate or regional level. 
    • External reporting and filings including IRS, banking and others.

    Consolidated corporate monthly book close:

    • Prepare and maintain consolidated account analysis (Balance sheet and P&L)
    • Prepare consolidated financial statements and management reports

    US operations monthly book:

    • Month end journal entries including revenue
    • Balance sheet Account analysis (ie. Fixed assets, prepaids, accruals, deferred revenue, inventory and etc.)
    • P&L variance analysis
    • Management Reporting

    Qualifications

    Required Skills

     

    EDUCATION:

    • BS in Accounting/Finance required. CPA is a plus

    EXPERIENCE:

    • Minimum 5 years experience in accounting

    SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:

    • Requires strong organizational and time management skills, close attention to detail and be able to effectively handle multiple priorities.
    • Ability to audit work to identify issues and implement processes improvements to prevent errors and develop efficiencies.
    • Must have solid financial control background and demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills. Must demonstrate good judgment, well developed business ethics, integrity and consultancy skills.
    • Exceptional computer skills including advanced skills in Excel, related financial and data base software. Knowledge of JE Edwards and SQL a plus.
    • Ability to work independently and to partner with other departments and to interface with senior management.
    • Must have solid business acumen and understanding of a variety of functional areas within the business.
