    Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Product Manager to join the Server Tech Team in Reno, NV.

    Product Manager will complete management of designated product line: product development, sales support & training, promotional activities, forecast, inventory and operations performance, assist with long-term planning, creates Product Requirement Document (PRD) for new product feature, and works with customers on new product designs. Responsible for market development of new and existing products into the existing business structure as well as support pricing strategy, travel with sales team, initiate & respond to training requests for the new markets.


    What Will You Do?



    • Product Development: field visits; meet with customers (ED, subs, specifiers, end-users, initiate research with engineering & operations to maintain a constant flow of new products and product enhancements.
    • Market development of new and existing products into the existing business structure.
    • Support pricing strategy, travel with sales team, initiate & respond to training requests and customer presentations for the new markets.
    • Promotional activities: participate in catalog development, develop sell sheets, product bulletins & promotional campaigns with sales & marcom team, support product launches.
    • Operational performance: participate in weekly SO&P meetings for designated product line, monitor & act on inventory levels, production capacity, service rates, production costs to meet or beat corporate targets.
    • Long-term planning: lead the long term vision for designated product line, ensuring sustainable growth, market share and profitability, keep an eye on the market: attend trade events, competitive benchmarking, initiate & conduct research into long-term trends & customer needs.
    • Budget planning: monitor & review product line performance & trends to evaluate budget.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.


    Required Skills



    • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (preferred), Business Administration, Sales and Marketing or related field. MBA preferred.



    • Minimum 5 years experience in product management, marketing or related field. Specific electrical or datacenter industry knowledge a plus.


    • Requires strong organizational and time management skills, close attention to detail and to be able to effectively handle multiple priorities.
    • Must possess excellent project management skills, including demonstrated ability to develop and manage to a project plan, establish priorities, work to deadlines and control a number of projects at various stages of work
    • Strong computer skills, proficient with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software, e-mail and meeting management software. Ability to use internet and web based resources efficiently and effectively.
    • Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills and be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization. Must be an effective listener, able to maintain focus extract necessary information and validate understanding of the information.
    • Demonstrated ability to understand customer’s needs and identify new ways to serve/satisfy customer.
    • Must be highly collaborative and able to work in a team based environment. Promotes an environment that is encourages cohesiveness and fosters trust and open communication with team, peers and all business partners.
    • Must have solid business acumen and understanding of a variety of functional areas within the business. Must be proficient in negotiation and influencing skills.
    • Strong organizational and planning skills and the ability to work independently.
    • Position requires travel and flexibility to attend events outside of normal work hours.
