Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Logistics Director to join the Legrand Team in Dayton, OH.

 

What Will You Do?

 

Role: The Director of Logistics will lead and ensure the plant is manufacturing and distributing Legrand products in a timely, safe, and efficient manner to meet customer expectations. The Director of Logistics will have a continuous improvement mindset to drive goal attainment with operational needs, employee engagement, and financial metrics.

 

Main Activities:

· Organization: Organizational Leader competency model

· Main Interface: Warehouse and manufacturing personnel, contract labor vendors, Legrand site leaders, sales leaders, customer service and purchasing teams, and carrier contacts. Reports to Sr. Director of Logistics.

· Budget: Direct management of $20M+ budget. Responsible for fiscal analysis and developing plans to manage costs.

 

Main Job Duties:

· Manage short, medium and long-term strategy and operations at Dayton facility.

· Ensure safety is the highest priority by actively contributing to the safe work environment every day.

· Lead and manage effective work processes and operational flow throughout the facility to ensure efficient and effective results.

· Lead and manage salary and hourly labor (including temporary labor) to promote a positive working environment that engages and retains its key employees. Create individual development plans for staff.

· Fully implement and execute on Legrand Way operational and safety protocols. Monitor, measure and reports KPI’s and develop improvement plans as needed.

· Communicate effectively and transparently with business leaders to help improve customer relations and drive improved business decisions.

· Provide strategic direction to distribution and manufacturing functions, identify improvements and support business objectives. Align procedures with customer and business requirements.

· Work closely with labor providers to continually seek ways to recruit top talent into the organization.

· Manage inventory accurately and within cycle count policy requirements.

· Analyze and recommend automation and technology solutions to improve service, space and cost.

· Actively support all Legrand CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) targets and initiatives. Ensure your staff is aware of their expectations and actively supports meeting or exceeding the CSR goals.

· Participate as a key member of the Logistics Staff, assisting in driving functional alignment to Legrand’s core values and developing logistics strategy.

· Supports other Legrand logistics projects as needed.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Major in Logistics, Business, Finance or Supply Chain preferred. MBA is highly desirable.

 

Experience:

· At least 10 years of distribution or logistics experience along with a minimum of 5 years managing other managers or supervisors

· Must have at least 3 years of demonstrated excellent leadership and project management experience.

 

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

· Experience with design and layout of distribution facilities and best-in-class operations

· Knowledge of LEAN operating principles

· Continuous improvement in a leadership role

· Strong financial acumen

· Proven ability to measure and perform against internal and external industry standards

· Experienced change agent possessing the strategic, analytical, and teamwork skills needed to drive major commercial decisions across a diverse set of stakeholders.

· Strong communication skills, including written, verbal and presentation skills; credible with internal stakeholders and external audiences; comfortable meeting with/presenting to executives and senior management.

· Strong computer skills with knowledge of WMS, ERP, and other business applications such as Microsoft Office 365 and TEAMS.

· May travel up to 10% of the time.
