Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Product Marketing Manager to join the BCS Team, remotely. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, driving and implementing the product line strategic plan for particular product lines. Develops this plan in conjunction with the appropriate stakeholders.

 

MAIN JOB DUTIES:

  • Engage with the product management, sales, and services functions to coordinate product launch materials and activities such as marketing & advertising campaigns, training, product guides and brochures, sales programs, and web sites.
  • Drive the product development phase of new product introductions in close collaboration with the Product Manager and engineering teams.
  • Understand our customers and what drives their purchasing decisions to develop product positioning that resonates with them to help our sales teams be successful.
  • Understand market problems in order to guide new product requirements or enhancements to product lines by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to all channel stakeholders. Develop associated buyer/user personas.
  • Understand the competitive landscape and how to position BCS’s offer to win.
  • Define and help develop the distinctive competencies necessary to maintain a clear leadership position.
  • Capable of developing the associated business/investment plans to gain senior management approval for fund in product line development.
  • Cost and GM (Pricing) management in conjunction with the respective Product Manager and Sales Mgmt
  • Performs other similar and related duties as required

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelors in Marketing, Business, or technical field.
  • MBA preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 7+ years experience in product management.
  • Experience with a company known for their channel and/or innovation capabilities a plus.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:

  • Electrical distribution and OEM fixture channel experience a plus
  • Understand market and dynamics driving development.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, close attention to detail and be able to effectively handle multiple priorities.
  • Possess excellent project management skills, including demonstrated ability to develop and manage to a project plan, establish priorities, work to deadlines and control a number of projects at various stages of work.
  • Strong computer skills; proficient with word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software. Ability to use internet and web based resources efficiently and effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills and be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization. An effective listener, able to maintain focus extract necessary information and validate understanding of the information.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand customer’s needs and identify new ways to serve/satisfy customer.
  • Highly collaborative and able to work in a team based environment. Promotes an environment that is encourages cohesiveness and fosters trust and open communication with team, peers and all business partners. Ability to influence senior staff.
  • Solid business acumen and understanding of a variety of functional areas within the business. Proficient in negotiation and influencing skills.
