Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Process Engineer to join the Finelite Team in Union City, CA.

 

The process engineer's responsibilities include identifying areas for improvement, maintaining high levels of manufacturing and product quality, designing new products and processes, as well as ensuring cost-efficiency and conformance with regulatory standards

  • Evaluates machining / surface treatment manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs
  • Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching testing methods, and conferring with equipment vendors
  • Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout
  • Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods
  • Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs
  • Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
  • Provides manufacturing engineering information by answering questions and requests
  • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations
  • Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services
  • Maintains product and process database by writing computer programs and entering data
  • Completes design and development projects by training and guiding technicians
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops
  • Additional duties as defined by manager

Qualifications

To be successful as a manufacturing engineer you should be able to work effectively within a team and have a high level of technical expertise

  • An outstanding manufacturing engineer should be able to develop and optimize manufacturing processes for maximum efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and quality
  • Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent of work experience
  • Experience evaluating and troubleshooting manufacturing processes and machinery
  • Experience using CAD, CAM, data analysis programs, and related software
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong organization and management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Strong analytical thinker
