Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanic to join the Electrical Wiring Systems Wiremold Team in West Hartford, CT. The Mechnaic will install, repair and maintain a variety of equipment and facilities.

 

What Will You Do?

  • Installs, repairs, and maintains all production equipment, special purpose manufacturing systems, office and factory support equipment, and building facilities.
  • Repairs, modifies, and maintains all factory buildings, loading docks, outbuildings, interior offices in factory and office.
  • Repairs, modifies, and maintains all manufacturing equipment, factory, or office fixtures of wood construction.
  • Builds new facilities, equipment, and tools of wood construction, preparing the materials required list and estimated material costs.
  • Sets up, maintains, and operates all applicable machines and tools, including but not limited to those needed to harden or temper tool steels, or any other metal preparation processes.
  • Knows and demonstrates basic welding skills.
  • Performs Total Preventive Maintenance (TPM) schedules and assignments as required for the tools and machines used in the performance of this function.
  • Maintains all materials, tools and equipment in good repair and maintains orderly condition of work area consistent with 5 C practices and the Wiremold Production System.
  • Records information required for analysis and decision making including, but not limited to equipment performance, quality and productivity.
  • Complies with all OSHA and Company safety procedures and works in a safe manner to insure both personal safety and safety to others.
  • Performs all assignments with attention to quality standards of workmanship.
  • Reports current or potential problems or malfunctions that may affect assignment or operation of equipment.
  • May train others in repair and safe operation of equipment.
  • Performs other work as directed by supervisor.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Must know how to use all applicable tools and measuring devices to perform the work.
  • Must maintain current licensing or certification required for the performance of assigned tasks.
  • Must know and follow all applicable OSHA and Company safety policies, practices, and procedures.

Essential Mental Functions

  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, schematic drawings, specifications, and wiring diagrams.
  • Must be able to read and follow established job procedures and check lists.
  • Must be able to solve mathematical equations at an elementary level.
