Position Description

At a Glance

 

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Accountant III to join the Lighting Sector Finelite Team in Union City, CA. The Accountant III will assist in the completion of month end financial reporting, assure accuracy and completeness, as well as to analyze and interpret financial statements. Provide support to the Finance Department to meet internal (Legrand) and external (audit/tax) reporting requirements.

 

Salary Range: $100,000-$115,000

 

What Will You Do?

  • Reconciliation and analysis of Balance Sheet Accounts including account reconciliations in CCH Workpaper Manager.
  • Gather, prepare, and enter journal entries, ensuring they are consistent with GAAP and corporate accounting policies.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records.
  • Develop and maintain internal control systems to ensure compliance with accounting standards and laws as well as Legrand polices.
  • Prepare and analyze various financial reports, including aging reports, AP/AR reconciliations, and cash flow projections.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Manage fixed asset tracking and reporting of capital expenditures.
  • Participate in Budgeting / Forecasting activities.
  • Maintenance of Dataworks Report Writer and Approval/Audit of Concur Expense reports.
  • Performs other similar and related duties as required.

Qualifications

Required Skills

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Requires strong organizational and time management skills, close attention to detail and be able to effectively handle multiple priorities. Requires close attention to detail, ability to audit work to identify issues and implement processes to prevent errors.
  • Must possess strong analytical skills and the ability to identify trends and establish proactive corrective actions.
  • Exceptional computer skills, extensive knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and data base software, proficiency with various e-mail, calendaring, meeting management and related communications software. Company specific accounting and finance software and systems a plus (Macola, JD Edwards, SAP, BPC, Query, GCOVE).
  • Must be able to communicate effectively both in written format and oral presentation and to give and receive detailed/complex and sensitive information, and process that information appropriately. Demonstrated ability to create effective reports, presentations and business correspondence.
  • Must have solid business acumen and understanding of a variety of functional areas within the business.
