Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Operations Manager to join the team in Union, OH.

 

The Senior Operations Manager is responsible for managing and directing the inbound and outbound distribution team and activities to ensure accurate and timely picking/shipping processes and the fulfillment of all orders with maximum efficiency.

 

Main Job Duties:

  • Foster a “safety first” culture through associate awareness, training, and accountability. Prioritize safety above all metrics.
  • Ensure continuous review and improvements of operational processes to ensure accuracy and compliance; oversee daily monitoring efforts to ensure productivity objectives meet company/departmental standards.
  • Effectively manage labor resources to meet customer demands and cost measures while maintaining awareness of the business context and company profitability, including budgetary control issues.
  • Develops relationship with business leaders to help support customer excellence. Ensure primary business contacts are developed for each brand. Confirm all shipping and picking deadlines and priority cut-off times are met.
  • Plan, manage and maximize all inventory functions in collaboration with the Inventory Control Manager.
  • Develop and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) to track success and/or recurring problems using Legrand Way. Ensure accountability for performance exists at all levels.
  • Directly manage Distribution Supervisors across multiple shifts; indirectly manage hourly staff; reviews overall team and individual performance and administers performance management actions as necessary. Develop leaders to grow logistics bench strength.
  • Supports the coaching, training, and development of hourly staff to ensure a cross-trained, motivated, agile, and high-performing team. Creates a culture of employee engagement.
  • Collaborates with HR on employee performance and disciplinary issues, executing plans and actions as necessary.
  • Supports Legrand CSR goals and initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics Management, Distribution Logistics/Transportation or related degree or equivalent experience.

 

Experience: Preferred 5-7 years Distribution Center experience

 

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

 

  • Leadership skills to lead key function
  • Operation & Management of DC personnel is a must.
  • Well rounded knowledge of logistics terms and concepts.
  • Proficient MS Office skills, specifically Excel
  • Effective team player
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Embraces change
  • Highly organized with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and with cross functional teams
  • Must have flexibility to manage across multiple shfits
  • Knowledge of warehouse and inventory management systems
  • Lean and six-sigma are a plus
