Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Process Engineer Intern to join the Lighting Sector Finelite Team in Union City, CA. The Process Engineer Intern will evaluate current operations processes, efficiency and productivity and determine which projects to deploy, assigning the resources and drive continuous improvement projects from ideation to creation. The Process Engineer Intern will determine which projects will contribute the most for continuous improvement based on data collection and analysis and by collecting feedback from the operations personnel. The Process Engineer Intern will create and maintain a lean culture in operations and the entire organization using lean methodologies, trainings and guidance.

 

What Will You Do?

  • Create and maintain a sustainable lean culture in the organization.
  • Collect and analyze data on existing process to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and lean processes.
    • This includes process, tools and equipment, and systems.
  • Participate in Kaizen events for continuous improvement.
  • Lead lean projects from ideation to creation.
    • Ensure timely completion of lean projects.
  • Lead problem solving initiatives.
  • Lead 5s and Housekeeping.

Qualifications

Required Skills

 

Education:

  • Manufacturing/ Industrial engineering studies or equivalent.

Experience and skills:

  • Proven ability to develop processes across matrixed organization.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent ability to work and collaborate with different teams in the organization.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Proven ability of high-level analysis of reports and data and extract valuable information to identify and create better processes.
