Position Description

At a Glance

 

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a summer Electrical Engineer Intern to join the Data Center Power & Control Division Team in Canonsburg, PA. The Electrical Engineer Intern will provide support to the Engineering Department and will contribute to the commercialization, application, and customization of all Starline products. This position will work under clearly defined guidelines and supervision of the Sr. Engineering Manager of R&D and other Electrical engineers.

 

What Will You Do?

  • Assist in electrical engineering design tasks in support of customer specific customizations of Starline products.
  • Assist in creating technical documentation such as drawings, O&M Manuals, installation instructions, work instructions and product catalogs.
  • Support the integration of 3rd party products with Starline’s product offerings.
  • Assist in test set-up for product performance verification, system integration and compliance with applicable standards.
  • Assist in supporting improvements to Starline’s engineering information systems to ensure high quality engineering information is provided to production and other customers of this information.
  • Participate in Team-based initiatives within Starline.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Required Skills

 

Education:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college pursuing a BS Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology degree.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Exposure to CAD software.
  • Exceptional organizational, time management, communications, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft office tools.

Personal Qualities/Behaviors:

  • Primary environment: ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.
  • The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas where under certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and mandatory hearing protection.
  • Regularly required to stand; walk and communicate with others.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up and carry to 25 pounds.
